He could quash these rumors in 2 seconds if he wanted to.  So obviously, something is up.

But, if you wanted to look for a positive, he could also confirm his departure in 2 seconds and has not.

It appears BBF lives a life where he is in pain all the time. So he will have his ups and downs, and he is probably far too open for his own good with how he feels at a given time during the day. He probably lives a life where he goes from feeling suicidal to being grateful for where he is with his career right now. And he is probably back for forth 30 times a day.

But hey, if people want to promote their forums with this, then yay; go sports!

The internet has reached a point above and beyond my sense of decency. I just go with the flow now. I read it, I am not sure if it is entertainment, but Hey Joe.

True GN'R fans love BBF, he has been open and fun since day one, and I hope he stays with GN'R because he is GN'R now.

True words. The internet is a weird place!

Little heavy handed here, no?  I mean...its a rock band.  Its not Watergate.

Regardless of how the story got out, assuming its legit, he can't be blind to the fact it's out there.  I'm not sure what to make of his indecision, as I said.  I think you could argue it both ways.

A fan reports a private conversation, beit medically based, on a public funded forum, and then they go and promote it as near news. Even Madison would not touch this.

Further to that, even eclectic MSL is not going near it on his forum.

It represents an all time low for some other forums.

There is so much to behold now, rasp is back for those that like it, Duff has returned again. CD II is almost there. What else does one need in life really.

Still working on a way to work himself into the story, I imagine.  Does he "report" on stuff he has no hand in?

I think this is the most promising it has looked in GNRland in I can't even remember how long.  2006?

But how do we not talk about this?  I guess you could get wrapped up in the indignity of it all, but it's out there.  And yet another personnel change is not what we need right now.  I think its natural that folks are curious.

The reality is that Ron started all this with his countdown tweet.  Right or wrong?

Didn't ron dedicate abnormal to the gnr crew?

I don't remember him ever doing that before.....

Sounds like maybe a good bye

Sounds like the last 4 shows starting with duff were some of the best shows over the past 4 years

Ron dedicated "Abnormal" to his mother last month, who was in the audience.  I don't know of other dedications, but dedicating to the crew is just something nice to do, because they take good care of him and GN'R.

A few crew members surprise Ron in 2012
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y43NX3uJZms&feature=youtu.be

You don't see how him thanking the crew (which he has never done before, I don't think) can be viewed as a good bye/thank you?

especially when his departure is being heavily rumored

I could see how people could think that but that is not what I believe.  Some of the crew have "Abnormal" tattoos.  When Ron started his "countdown" I assumed it was because he was excited and it had something to do with finishing his first new record in six years.  I can also understand how not answering a question can sometimes be an answer.  Hope he sticks around..

So now we have speculation that Ron is "re-negotiating his contract", for lack of a better term.

Yet when it has been suggested this not a traditional band, people get all upset.  They also get worked up when analogies are made to this being run more like a sports team than a band, in terms of the contracts and free agent like process to fill slots.

Don't you think this is what people mean, stuff like this?

You?re forgeting something very important. Ron is answering questions. Maybe he shouldn?t. You?re blaming a fan for talking but Ron has to keep his mouth shut in the first place or make sure that the fan knows the information is private and secret. We don?t know if Ron told that fan to shut up about it.

Also I know if a fan makes a similar comment here it gets deleted. Fine that?s the policy here. But other forums have other policy. And they have the right to do so. They already have plenty of fans. They don?t need to get people from elsewhere.

People might get annoyed by people like yourself thinking this is something specific to the current line up, or anything post 1996. Which is just another case of rewriting history.

Do you honestly think that since the Appetite line up ceased to exist that contracts weren't signed? You think Matt Sorum or Gilby Clarke were full partners in the GN'R partnership?

The problem is that some of you fans label the current band as a bunch "hired" musicians and not a "real band" while conveniently forgetting to remember the possibility of the Use Your Illusion line up operating in exactly the same way.... Yet you had no issues with it back then, or even today.

So in the future, if you're gonna point things like this out as something "bad", don't forget to include a little note saying that you're aware of the fact that it also was something that happened in the past, in order to not "upset" your fellow fans. Thank you.  ok

On another note, I find it sad that all these negative "news" are what's being focused on. As usual, negativity is interesting. After a successful run through South America and now USA/Las Vegas. The band played their asses off and Axl sounded amazing. Remember the "Axl is retiring" bullshit? Conveniently came out around the time he was getting praise for his vocal range....

And now this.

It's a shame.

You're premise that this is not new to GNR is very accurate. Matt and Gilby certainly were hired musicians/fill ins as all of the players are today.

BUT every single poster here as praised Axl and the performances of late.... nobody is harping on negative things

if the lead guitar player is talking about leaving the band... we shouldn't discuss or analyze why he might be doing it? we should gloss over it and just praise the run that finished up? and if he is gone... should we be happy about it? is it just rumor at this point? yes, but isn't that the point of a place like this? to discuss the possible goings and comings of the band

again, nobody is being negative , you are too defensive sometimes

If you want to discuss it, you can do so in a new topic.

It's the same thing with many of the things some of you want to discuss to death. They don't need to be brought up in every topic about shows you're not attending.... Smiley

The topic of the thread is "June 7th, 2014"....a "Is Ron leaving" topic might be more appropriate.....just leave it at that beer

Your reading comprehension seems a bit lacking. Which has nothing to do with the number of shows people attend.
See the post above this for clarification on the matter. Cheers!

oh for fuck sake dude ... READ WHAT HE SAID.
He didn't say you couldn't discuss it.  He said to stop ruining every thread and just start ONE new one about it.

If you want to discuss it, you can do so in a new topic.

I'll say this having been at the last three Vegas shows.  Seeing an entire show (in person) vs. watching 50% of the songs being performed in YouTube videos are two very, very different experiences.

So, yes, you can have an opinion. Of course.  But, the person at the show will always have a more informed opinion having seen the entire show from start to finish, IMO.

Jesus... I'm not the one who hijacked this thread with complaints about the show, the quality on youtube, on ANYTHING

there have been NO COMPLAINTS about any of those things

as usual one person posed a question about Ron...granted probably in the wrong thread and then the big bad boss came in kicking and screaming that all we do is be negative, when NOBODY was being negative

This strained reach of analogy has already been discussed and discredited.  Since I know you aren't fond of rehashing, I won't do so here.

There is talk all over these threads about how good Axl is sounding lately, how welcome the setlist variety is, and how encouraging that interview was where Axl talks about moving forward.

This is all very easily provable and would not take you more than 30 seconds to confirm.

But its not going to change the fact that you could not say the same about the South American tour.  He didn't sound good, there was no similar setlist variety, and there wasn't anything about moving forward.  We have such things now, so we can talk about them now.  They are all great, and we are all way onboard.

But we can't retroactively pretend they applied to what was going on in March, for the simple fact they were not.  Breaks of the game there.
