Looks like something fishy is going on there. Somebody's trying to cancel the festival? Not sure if it's somebody trying to score some political points or what.

Nos genera un gran malestar que medios y monopolios hagan este tipo de acusaciones y ataques infundados con el solo prop?sito de echar abajo un importante esfuerzo, cuyo fin no es mas que el de ampliar el abanico de eventos culturales dentro del territorio del Estado de M?xico y sus alrededores, atentando as? contra la reputaci?n de una empresa con a?os de experiencia en el medio, y sobre todo, contra el p?blico mismo al tratar de sembrarles dudas para evitar su asistencia a nuestro evento.

The organizers say there were efforts made by some media and monopolies to spread rumours of an alleged cancellation of the festival. Because of that, they organized a press conference (held today) with the city's major, to clear all these things out.

The good thing here is that the band had NOTHING to do with this!

this is Mexico State's governor officially cancelling the show. He even says he likes ''GNR, I Used To Love Her and November Rain'' but as the head of a family, he cant allow and expose people to attend a festival of this magnitude if all the security measures cant be assured.

My Spanish is not good, but this update on their site basically says they had all the meetings with the people from the government a while ago and everyone was ok with the festival, supporting the legal issues, giving the legal 'oks' to run the event and they just hope this is not a political maneuver of any kind.

They also said it would be disrespectful to the fans all over the world, who will attend the festival, if it gets canceled.

Yes, that would be a disrespectful thing to do to paying customers.

Advertise something, sell tickets to it, then not have it happen.  I imagine that can be very frustrating.  All the more so if you had to make travel arrangements to be there.

That does seem like a dick move, I have to agree.
