Hello gunners,

Im an wheelchair gunner from Brazil and made a little story about my experience as a gunner during22 years. a friend of mine made a little intro, hope you enjoy it.

?What do you do when you have enough points at your fidelity credit card program to do a trip to Vegas???
And, after plan this trip, your favorite band ever schedule a residency at Hard Rock Hotel??? LET?S GO THERE!!!!
That? s what Rodolfo Sarudiansky did, a fanatic gunner! Here is the story about his devotion to Guns n? Roses and this crazy trip!? by Rafa Castro.

My name is Rodolfo Sarudiansky, 37, wheelchair user since was born, I have a neurological progressive disease.

I met Guns n? Roses when heard Knocking on Heaven? s Door in 1990, GOT CRAZY!
Some months later, saw them at Rock in Rio II on TV, never got clean about this addiction. This is not an addiction who makes you to collect items, but, tattoos too, today, there? s four large tattoos from Guns n? Roses.

I studied piano during 18 years, just stop cause my disease fucked my arms, during my school time, at a nun school, where rock drives you to hell, were tough to be a gunner.
At my graduation, I supposed to play a classical song, some Mozart, I guess, when I went to stage, looked at my friends, looked at nuns and just started to play November Rain. Everyone could see how wonderful rock n? roll could be. Everyone loved it! Even the nuns??or not. HA! My friends loved, the nuns said a lot of shit.

Since that old times, went to some Guns n? Roses concerts, 92, 2001, 2010. This last one, could enter at the after party with a lot of hope to meet Axl, take a pic and got sign at my jacket, but wait, not just a jacket, is a exactly similar jacket that he used at Civil War song during Illusion Tour, with USA flag on it. Unfortunately, didn? t get it.

2011, again, they? re back! This time, Rock in Rio III, had a great progress in my mission. Went to their hotel, the band mates were more then nice, lot of pics and signs, Bumblefoot played piano and sang for fans. Del James and Fernando Lebeis helped me a lot to see the show at a good place cause handicapped area was terrible, they put me between audience and stage, saw the show 2 ft distance from stage, was simply awesome, didn?t meet Axl, but didn?t quit my dream.

2012, with mileage program to use, went to LA and Vegas with my wife. During the plans to this trip, Guns n? Roses made an announcement, Appetite for Democracy, a residency at Hard Rock Hotel, with 12 shows, first shows will be at our period in Vegas! GREAT! This time, will complete my mission and make my dream come true.

To go to Vegas was an adventure, I need to rent a handicap van and in L.A were hard to make it, we went to Vegas, rent the van there and we went direct to L.A. After some tourism, and some trouble to buy a new Powerchair for me, fuck, their expensive! We went to Malibu to take a pic in front of Axl? s home.

My wife said: What are you gonna do there?
My answer: Ring the bell!

Beta answer me, she was extremely nice and polite, she said Axl is sleeping now.
NOTE ? TOTALLY NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO GO TO CELEBRITIES HOME. I got lucky, Beta was nice, but is stupid to do that, they have the their privacy. I feel a lot of shame to did that.

After more tourism days, went to Rainbow, Roxy, etc, now direct to Vegas, some tourism there at Tropicana Hotel, very nice. NOW IT? S TIME TO MOVE TO HARD ROCK HOTEL AND CASINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in heaven, a lot of Axl? s jacket exposed, including the Civil War jacket. Spent so many hours at Casino lobby, I insisted till the limit of the good will behavior, band mates were more nice then ever, but still no Axl. I had a discussion with Del James, hated him during some days, but he said some true to me, and after wear his shoes, celebrities, I agreed with him and got shame again. I? m waiting meeting Axl 22 years this year. I? m a huge fan, BUT!!!! Everybody who were there is a HUGE FAN, people from all over the world, is a little brain concept to think that ONLY YOU is special. The only obligation for a rock star is go to the stage and make a awesome concert, and they did a fucking awesome 3 hour concert. Things need to happen naturally, right time, right mood. Its impossible to receive all fans, he does it at the stage, and do it as nobody can do! Shame again, he is my idol and always will be. As the first concert of that season, they had some troubles with special effects and this made Axl very upset, so, there was a tension in the air.

ABOUT THE SHOW:

My message to some WIDOWS: There? s no old Guns or new Guns, there? s only GUNS N?FUCKING ROSES and their always make an awesome concert, this lineup is simply the best with the best musicians today. Talk with Tommy, Ashba or Bumble is the same emotion as talk with the old guys. In Brazil we use to say: LINE GO? s ON! SO, STOP CRYING WIDOWS!

Talking About these guys, Bumble, Ashba, Tommy, Dizzy and Frank were so nice that I can? t say, I met a lot of cool people there, from the crew, fans, impossible to list them. Tahlia Knight, Kari Kaisner, Scott Dowers.... much love to you all guys.

Finally, my jacket was not signed, but I have a great army to help me, Bumblefoot stay with my jacket and when Axl sign it he will mail it to me.
Now, just wait concert in Brazil, wait to receive my signed jacket to put it at the spot reserved for it. About the pic, still trying someday, with faith, to be the right place, right time.

See you gunners.

After some days that I made this story, receive an email talking that my jacket was signed, now it is touring the East, someday soon, I will receive it. TOO FUCKING HAPPY!

I've got to say, your story made me smile LOTS. It's so nice to hear fans stories from all over the world, and it's all inspiring. Believe me, I could do the same and have done in the past, regarding how much Axl and GN'R have touched me and changed my life. I loved reading your story fellow gunner, and rock on my friend!!!...  Cool  ok

Hy rodolfojs. Great story dude! I'm also disabled. I was born with a short  left arm and club feet. I had the best doctors who lengthened my right arm to a  normal size and they corrected the club feet. The doctors couldn't do much for my left arm though.  I know what GNR means to me being disabled. I went through a discrimination case when I was a kid. It was around the time that Guns N' Roses broke through with "Welcome to the Jungle". All my anger and frustration led me to liking  GNR and "Welcome to the Jungle" and dealing with my disability in a positive manner. Eventually I would like to write a book and do some public speaking on what is like being disabled in the United States. There is still a lot that needs to be done here in the U.S. In any case, I can definitely relate to your story.

Man, I know that looks like terrible to be a disable in U.S., there?s a lot to be done, but I guess that I need to tell you that is hard job be a disabled everywhere. You know, my since ever dream is move to States cause you guys have a lot of better attention then here in Brazil. Just to you have an idea, I need to go to U. S to buy an wheelchair cause here it cost 5 times plus expensive, and theres no enter vans here, and insurance doesnt cover anything related. So, what I trying to say is, theres a lot to be done with the human kind. I totally agree with you bout Jungle moves us ahead, thats what Im talking about and what GnR means in my life. I know every fan is a huge fan, but just a little one knows what Axl means, like a fuel to survive.........do you have a facebook? find me there......Rodolfo Sarudiansky

Hey, congratulations man!  Awesome!  I loved your line about GNR giving you "fuel to survive."  Axl's definitely inspirational...makes me wonder if he truly knows how inspirational he is.

Highlights of your life.

That is exactly what a Vegas Residency means to me.  The Hard Rock is an oasis for a GNR fan.  It can make for a wonderful tradition I hope it continues every year and a half.  It means a lot to me.  It gives me something incredible to look forward to.  It is the definition of "living."
