After watching this, I'm officially over DJ.  He's such a douche!   How many times does he flip the camera off?  Hey, look at me, I'm gonna flip the camera off, and be all rock n roll.. Undecided. And how many times does he raise his arms up in the air for the audience to applaud and cheer?  He's ALL about the camera and attention.  Reminds me of some other top hatted guitarist....  Before long, he'll want control of the stage, he'll start doing any and every interview (wait, think he already does), and won't be able to shut his mouth.  Not a fan!

He is 80's style. Written for Motley Crue and wanna sound like Slash. He's real cool and does a fairly adequate job.

Richard is a gent and a talentfull guitarist, and Bumble is just godlike. Really. He's teh pwn here. And Axl Rose of course.

He's by far my favorite member of GNR...besides Axl. If you go to any GNR concert he has by far the most fans out of everyone in the band... Again, besides Axl obviously. If you go from one end of the stage to the other and go about 5 rows deep I would guess 50% of those people have on some sort of Ashba swag. They're always right up front loud and proud. I think he's awesome, I love his clothing line and I'm greatful for all of the interviews he does. I'm not some young kid, or a girl who thinks he's cute. I'm a 34 year old male who's loved GNR forever, and as far as I'm concerned he's a perfect fit for this band...unlike bucket and Robin...both of whom I couldn't stand. To each their own.

I really like the energy that DJ brings to the band and I am a big fan of his playing.  His solo spots that he has had over the past few years are all super melodic, I would love to hear Axl put lyrics to some of them.  I really don't understand the hate that he gets from some fans.  DJ, Richard and Bumble are my favorite set of guitarists that the band has had since 1991.  Does DJ screw up notes from time to time?  I guess, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that he is usually jumping off of things  and running around like a madman putting all his energy into the performance.  I don't even think he messes up that often, and if he does who cares?  If you want to hear it sound perfect listen to the cd.  He loves the band and does the material more than justice imo.  Also I really like his Sixx AM stuff.

Am I supposed to be able to choose the resolution of the digital video? My app does not show such options...
Also, is there a way to stream it on my smartTV?

Can see how some aren't too keen on DJ, since afd-gnr (the old gnrstuff that axl foocus mostly on live) was diferent than the 80's glamstuff. btw, am I the only one who emorage over the "cencored" cover? Did the femnazis whine it to death or is it supposed to be like that?

I think the show is great. Currently watching it on my iphone. The filming and sound are exceptional and really shows the quality of this band.

Look forward to Blu Ray to get full surround sound. Advance sales seem to be strong. Seems weird that GN'R are doing little to push it. I presume there is much going on behind the scenes...but great product.

And I personally think DJ is great. His stage presence and showmanship live is superb & he's had the audience in the palm of his hand every time I've seen them. I get the feeling Axl thinks pretty highly of him as well.

Surprised by the lack of posters on here these days. Thought this release might get the board hyped.

You need to use an application like AirPlay (iPhone/ iPad) or Chromecast.
If you bought the concert through the app and are able to play it within the app on your iPhone or iPad for instance, you need to be on the same Wifi network than your Smart TV and then select it as an output option on your iPhone/ iPad. There are some known issues with Android, even though some fans managed to play it on their TV.

You can email support@fantracks.com if you have any issues.

I think exactly the same. I'm very excited by this release, I mean it's the first official concert release since 1992 and the only one with the new line-up. It's not like we have a new CD/ DVD release every year? Also the first release since Chinese Democracy, 6 years ago!

I think it's pretty quiet on Twitter as well, maybe because the band/ management don't promote it a lot (which seems odd for an official new release).

FYI, I emailed my contact at Universal France and they said they never heard about this release (even though it's officiallly released by Universal in the US)...

I asked Universal Sweden and I was told my question was forwarded to the appropriate person. No response since....

I had to ask them twice, but they didn't seem to care too much lol, and just told me it "must be a US only release", but they didn't even know about the digital release?

By the way, cool to see your name in the DVD credits Jarmo! Wink

Well done! Too bad they misspelled Kat's first name but anyway, great show!

Can someone please tell me what's the exact difference between the DVD and the BluRay?

I believe only the Blu-ray has the 3D version.

Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live at the Hard Rock Casino - Las Vegas, will be available on Blu-ray?, featuring the complete concert film in both 3D and 2D plus an interactive 3D photo gallery, and standard DVD featuring the 2D version of the film. Both releases are mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound and feature bonus interviews with the band.

/jarmo

So both the BluRay and the DVD feature bonus interviews right? Any other bonuses not mentioned?

Yes. Seems like it.

If you have a Blu-ray player and a HD TV, that's the format to get. Usually the video and audio quality are better than a DVD can offer....

Thank you Jarmo.

I do have a HD TV but unfortunately I don't have a BluRay player, so I guess I'm sticking with the DVD.
