It's clear GNR didn't want this put out in the end but Rockfuel had spent too much money on it at that stage and fought hard for the release.

Funny. It's not clear to me....
What's clear is that there's been hurdles along the way that's now been overcome.  ok

You honestly think it would be released if GN'R did not want it released?
Some of you are way too quick to "blame" the band for your own good.....  Smiley

And just because GN'R management doesn't take part in the mudslinging it makes RockFuel 100% right?

Would this company even be allowed to film the show without the management's approval? Are they in fact criticizing the same people who gave them the opportunity to shoot he show? Ironic....

Yeah, I don't think you had to be Colombo to crack that one.

As for we "fans" who like to "blame" the band we "love" because we "are" such terrible "people"...I'd again go back to the common denominator point I made.

Option #1 : This is an incredibly well run operation top to bottom that just has the misfortune of being taken advantage of and screwed by everyone they deal with in every single aspect of their business.

Option #2 : Things could be run a little bit better on their end which might makes things run smoother.

You tell me.

Not necessarily.  But, by hiding in their bunker, they open themselves up to the very conversation we are having right now.

And I don't just mean here, where its civil and muted.  I'm talking other corners of the universe where things are discussed in much, much harsher terms.

You don't like management. We know.

It's coming out. You've got your release to buy. Why so bitter? Smiley
Expecting the usual: But this could be better and that.... Always something isn't there? Wink

Yeah, there could have been an answer to anything I posted, I suppose.

Next time, perhaps.

Aren't some of you always going on and on about being "professional"? So what's professional about starting to air things in public that are between two parties that are in business together?
Not much.

If one side wants to point fingers and (possibly) burn bridges, that's their choice.
You want things to be professional and smooth, and yet you want them to take part in things that is neither professional and also might make things less smooth... Surely you gotta see this? Or not...

Do you seriously think they will work together in the future?  I don't.  And this project was already done, so there was not much to jeopardize.

But if one side is laying the crazy delay it at your feet, if its truly inaccurate, you correct the record.  If you don't, it gives the impression you can't refute their claims.

And if you want to play some "take the high road" card, have at it.  But it all fosters conversations like this.  Which, to be honest, doesn't seem to bother them.

Sure seems to bother the hell out of you though, who blindly defend them at all times and take issue with even the slightest inference they messed something up.  And if that is your opinion, so be it, but then you should be willing to go on record that its not their fault and everyone else is the problem.  But you don't do that, do you?

As per usual, you lecture while staying pretty non-committal.  You'll wag a finger, but never go as far as to put your actual opinion out there, on the record.  Its a lot of "we don't know", followed by your take on what we can probably rule out though.  Irony be damned.

Honestly at this point who gives a fuck. Like Jarmo said, we are actually getting something cool released. Something we haven't had since '92! I don't really think this is the time for bitching and moaning. There will be plenty of time for that as we wait another year or two for a new album to drop.

edit: I'd like to add that I am so fucking pumped for seeing this show in HD (with hopefully really good 3D) and blasting it through a decent sound system. This is going to be the best presentation of live GNR we have EVER had. Audio and video.

The release of any product is a good thing.

Its like Axl's interview he just did.  In no way is it anything but a positive.

I agree.  I think RockFuel said that publicly knowing they won't work with GN'R in the future.  Having said that, even though it may not jeopardize any future work with GN'R, you have to consider that once that is out there on the internet, it's out there on the internet forever.  Meaning, if another band and its management was considering working with RockFuel in the future, would learning of this public display give them pause?

GN'R's management may have been incredibly difficult to work with, and RockFuel is therefore understandable in having the sentiment they did.  But, that's not the issue as I see it.  It is the airing of dirty laundry publicly that serves no positive purpose that's problematic.

By that same token, I see GN'R responding and airing even more dirty laundry publicly as being unproductive as well.  Call it taking the high road or whatever, but I don't think it necessarily means there isn't another valid side to the story - management's side to the story.

And, I'm sorry, but the notion that GN'R and/or its management didn't want this released is ridiculous.  If that were the case, they would disavow it completely, not make Facebook/Twitter posts about it and send a mass email promoting the theatrical showings.

I got the impression it was something they signed on for but lost interest.

Not that they didn't want it out under any circumstances, but it seemed to enter shoulder shrug territory to them somewhere along the way.

And what are the chances for the dvd/bluray will work on my playstation 3 which is bought in finland?

Can't see the region coding image on the photo of the cover. It all depends if it's made to played all over the world or only in region A....

It's currently #1 in music videos and concerts: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/movies-tv/2959141011/ref=sr_bs_1

/jarmo

It was confirmed a while back that it's region free

That's tough to say whether or not they lost interest.  They may have, but without talking to them I don't know how you gauge something like that accurately.
