Sometimes you have to Use Your Illusion hihi I apologize for that, I couldn't resist.

It's a selling point to include songs that fans have not heard of...   Even if it's a solo...
Weird and pretty bad form that they advertise a Bumblefoot song on the front

It gives the illusion it's a GNR song which is only going to frustrate people when they see it's an average song sung by the guitarist

Waiting for Promised Land....

First, keep in mind RockFuel said that a digital version of the audio tracks may be coming out in the next few months, so there is that option (hopefully).  Second, I agree with you on the people putting out the product are responsible for putting out the product in a format that is user and consumer-friendly.  But, that is the record company, not the band themselves.

Oh, sure.  Innocent bystanders, as usual.

Its only their likeness, their material, they the ones going to get paid on it.  But, clearly, they have nothing to do with any of this.

Rock Fuel flat out called TB out last week.  Any response?  Nope.  But a plague on anyone's house that dares speak ill of them, I suspect.
So, you honestly think Axl and/or Team Brazil, not the record company, who decides what formats will be supported for the product?

This is awesome that it's actually out!!!!
Was getting worried....

I'm buying 20 copies.  Next person to ask me if "_______ is in the band" or says "are they still touring" is getting a copy to get straightened out!  Every birthday and christmas present is getting one of these included for the next year too.

Finally something to show the non believers.

I do not accept the talking point that they aren't involved in what goes on with the ONE ACT they manage.

I can't imagine anyone really does.  Its just that some are willing to nod along and not ask questions, while others are more comfortable asking the occasional "wait...are you kidding me with this?" type query.

Bigger issue I see is that Rock Fuel flat out called them out on all this.  Their response?  No response.  Most people were already well under the impression the hold-ups here weren't on Rock Fuel's end.  A comment like that only stokes it.  And, for about the 147th time now, if you don't correct the record, you can't say shit about perceptions you might not care for.  That's on you.

Oh, and because that doesn't read very clearly looking back on it (haha), I'm speaking more to the excessive unexplained delays and generally poor communication, more so than formats for the product.

All this time to just have it pulled out from under you, it just leaves you shaking your head and smiling.  And not because you think its hilarious.

Considering the scratched out barcode on the cover, I'm assuming that copy is meant for promotional use. Just like those cds you'd find back in the day in record stores that had holes punched in them....

But cool that it's coming out. Smiley
People can say what they want about it. But it's finally coming out.

RockFuel called them out, but for what?  We don't know.  It could've been anything.  But, it came out in the context of why, at the time, the official GN'R website and social media had not mentioned the release.  It had nothing to do with the format choice for the release.

Here is the bottom line:  It is the record company's product to put out.  It is their product.  Could TB/GN'R have preferences for what formats the product is released in?  Sure.  Does that mean they are the ultimate decision-maker?  No.

I get your frustration.  Really, I do.  I wanted to purchase the CD + DVD set so I could have the audio on my iPhone/iPad.  However, if they release the digital version of the audio tracks, I'm o.k. with that.  I really don't think this format issue is something that can be laid at the feet of the band.  The delays and issues in getting this out?  Maybe.  But, not the format for the release issue.

No, absolutely true.

That's why I issued the correction post right underneath.  Every word of which I stand by.

I did rather lose my way with that first one, I must admit.  Happens to all of us, sometimes.

Jarmo,
Yeah it's probably promotional.  I won't be sending any video out to anyone out of respect for the band and Copyright laws.  I specifically chose not to include the inside cover and the DVD itself but if you (Jarmo only) PM me I'll send you a picture.

I'm away on business and wish I was at home sitting in front of my TV but can't view it at the moment.   I have another computer I can grab at the office that will play BluRay.    This weekend I'll put it up on the bigscreen wired up to the stereo.

Has anyone actually thought that MAYBE the reason that the CD hasn't been released was or is because of existing contracts?  Just because the band puts out a DVD, doesn't necessarily mean that a CD must follow...  There may be contractual restraints that none of us really know about...

But the audio isn't being released, only being made to steam from the app using the net on your phone every time you listen

If they dont release the audio it will get leaked somehow, people will get it in their phones if they want to. Just most of us would prefer buying it.

That's the thing.  I will get the audio either way.  But now, I'm going to stealing it sharing it peer to peer.

I was willing to buy it though.  Foolish decision by them.
