Agreed.  Not usually a good idea.  But, on the other hand, these are human beings, and I can understand the desire, even if misguided, to stick up for yourself if you are being slammed unfairly or if you feel misinformation is being perpetuated.

What is interesting is that it has been made clear that the band's management was not at all involved in this.  It sounds like it was a straight line between RockFuel to GN'R's legal team.

Which is just crazy to me. 

There was going to be a limited market for this anyway, and now you have just antagonized them, big time.  I mean, you already see people saying they will look for a torrent and not buy this, based on this move.  Just a horrendous decision.

And frankly, had they gone right to the mod team over there, I bet this could have been resolved quietly.

My "appetite" for this release went to 0. In a couple of months I'll be in Vegas seeing the band live. I have no interest buying/paying for a release of the same show that happened...2 years ago. These peeps don't have the slightest sense of marketing timing, communication, bunch of amateurs.

Don't know who's fault it is, I will not blame Slash, Duff or anyone else for eventually claiming what's right for them. All I know is that this release like so many others has been handled very poorly by whoever was involved, Rockfuel, GNR management, lawyers...

There are enough clips on youtube to last me for a lifetime, I'll just stick to those.

I actually feel bad for the rockfuel guys.
I stopped posting on that other site about a year ago because of how vile some of the so-called fans had become (I do read the odd news thread if there's something mentioned here). Meanwhile this company tried to give direct info to the fans and were consistently attacked from day one by the trolls.

Frankly I hope this gets sorted out as I had just got excited for the CD release.

What is the last OFFICIAL piece of news on the release.  Not speculation, or some guy heard/said....but actuall OFFICIAL communication?

http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/news/guns-nroses-3d-movie-hits-screens-in-april/  This is dated March4th and says release of April 3rd.
It was tweeted by RocketFuel on March 5th (as can be seen on GNR3dmovie.com.

Is there anything official dated since March 5th anywhere?

It's truly frustrating.  If it was released tomorrow, I would start by buying ten copies....but instead I'm forced to watch sub par youtube concerts....
I hope it finds a way out of Pandora's box....

If Axl and Duff play together, can't they just talk out this licensing deal and get that blu-ray released? Maybe just call up Slash and be like, "Dude, let's just get this over with"...what are the odds?

A daft idea. Duff would be rightly pissed at being a pawn in some fucking game.  However, should Duff decide that he wants the release to go ahead, then he could make a public appeal to Slash to wave this through for the fans who ultimately made him a rock star. Its not like he wouldn't make anything from this.
