I went and saw this at the Theatre last night. It was awesome. I have never been a huge 3D fan, but watching this concert made me forget that. Highlights were Chinese Democracy, WTTJ, It's So Easy, Mr. Brownstone, Don't Cry, Patience... I guess I could list a lot of tracks. Ha. My favorite performance was probably Nighttrain though. Of course Axl, in cool as usual fashion, seemed to not feed into the 3D. No pointing toward the camera, etc. DJ Ashba took full advantage of the 3D though. Bumblefoot as well. Definitely got my money's worth. Looking forward to hearing what the rest of the fans think when the Blu-Ray/DVD comes out.

No, it will be out soon.  I was able to get a copy last week.  Finally had a chance to watch it yesterday.  I personally think they should release The Seeker as a single to help promote this DVD.

I got the digital version + soundtrack from fantracks.com. Looks & sounds awesome on my computer, it doesn't work yet on my iPhone, but rock fuel says will need 24 hours to fix.

Anyways, this looks n sounds amazing, I'm a happy camper, looking forward to the blu-ray.

If anyone is interested, here's a translation of my review I put on gnrfrance.net (I guess most don't speak French Smiley)

"This is a really good Guns N' Roses show, filmed towards the end of their 2012 residency (Axl's voice was pretty strong after a few shows). This release is way better than the Live at London O2 2012 which aired on Japanese TV last year (even though we don't have Izzy Stradlin here). Audio mix is by all means far superior and editing is a lot more enjoyable and fitting a live concert (a lot less crowd shots and no models dancing before the front rows). It's really nice to have a new pro-shot by Guns N' Roses, and especially the very first live release from the new line-up!

About the show itself and the atmosphere, I think we could do without the dancers (I know we're in Vegas but anyway), but setlist is top quality, with all the classics, some good covers, also some Illusions songs (Estranged, Civil War, Don't Cry) and several songs from the last album Chinese Democracy.

Stream quality is almost perfect, one can barely notice any compression issue (this level of quality means a lot of buffering especially at the beginning). We'd just like the sound to be a bit higher and more powerful, but it's a pretty nice preview of the forthcoming Blu-ray! Every GN'R fan needs to buy this new release, you won't be disappointed! Rock Fuel has done a very good job on producing this, we'd like to thank them and give them our congrats, as well as the band for a good concert!"

Buy this new live GN'R release, it's really great!

After watching this, I'm officially over DJ.  He's such a douche!   How many times does he flip the camera off?  Hey, look at me, I'm gonna flip the camera off, and be all rock n roll.. Undecided. And how many times does he raise his arms up in the air for the audience to applaud and cheer?  He's ALL about the camera and attention.  Reminds me of some other top hatted guitarist....  Before long, he'll want control of the stage, he'll start doing any and every interview (wait, think he already does), and won't be able to shut his mouth.  Not a fan!

He's by far my favorite member of GNR...besides Axl. If you go to any GNR concert he has by far the most fans out of everyone in the band... Again, besides Axl obviously. If you go from one end of the stage to the other and go about 5 rows deep I would guess 50% of those people have on some sort of Ashba swag. They're always right up front loud and proud. I think he's awesome, I love his clothing line and I'm greatful for all of the interviews he does. I'm not some young kid, or a girl who thinks he's cute. I'm a 34 year old male who's loved GNR forever, and as far as I'm concerned he's a perfect fit for this band...unlike bucket and Robin...both of whom I couldn't stand. To each their own.

that kind of stuff doesn't matter to me, on stage he can do almost everything he wants to do, i think he's just himself  (even if he's a little bit boring).
On the other hand, more than everything lese, I think he lacks a lot of guitar basic skills (more than slash himself when he was 20/30 yr old) and general taste in melody (I didn't like that much Robin Finck in gnr back in the days, but at least he had his unique style and his own idea of music, melody, rythm etc). When you're more concerned with make up, posing, hats  than  your instrument to express yourself  that's what happens, you forget to learn music, simple as that... Just don't like him as a live player (i like  fortus and bumble better), we'll see on an album what he can do.... But really, when i listen to ashba playin' i sense everybody else could play in gnr... I always look at him as the one who plays guitar just to fuck some chick (like gilby back in the days  Grin, but at least he wasn't the lead guitar  ) hihi but not because of his  primadonna acting on stage, but because he never learnt how to bending strings right  hihi

I kind of go back and forth with DJ. He fucks up sometimes (and without having consumed a bottle of Jack to use as an excuse). He is often cheesy. Him wearing a top hat is beyond the pale. Just comes across as bad taste for all the reasons we all know. I'm not sure why Axl is cool with that unless its just to "thumb his nose" to we all know who. I would also prefer just Axl interact with the audience. Having said that, he certainly looks like someone who could have been in the band in the 80s. His energy is often great and does have a decent fan base I guess.

edit: Ron Thal is a beast. And he is universes cooler then DJ IMHO. I think he could handle all lead on his own and I would probably prefer that he did.

Question for Jarmo or other mods, when reviews start coming in for the blu ray, do we post them right here or will there be a separate topic to discuss the reviews. Hope you freak bitches are having a great summer. Have fun people.

A lot of people think he wears a hat because he's in GNR, but that's not true. He was wearing top hats way before he had anything to do with GNR. Anyways...I can't wait til the day comes when I get home from work and the DVD is in my mailbox!!
