AXL SLASH DUFF = GOAT

« Reply #42 on: October 03, 2012, 10:20:02 AM »

I know this has been mentioned before, but it would be great to see Axl on Piers Morgan.  Piers mentioned nice things about Axl during the HOF fiasco, and while some of you may have strong feelings against Piers, he does a nice interview and would get more in depth.  If Axl is going promo, go full out and do Piers as well!

It will be fun to see him on Kimmer (Not my favorite though). I wish for some kind of announcement (DVD or CD?).

We'll see  peace

Actually, I'd think you were more of a nerd if you already knew. I already did, of course, but I'm kind of a nerd. Grin

Anyway, I'm excited. Axl's gonna kick some late night television ass!

axl on jimmy kimmel's show will be fun to see. i think every fan should be happy that axl is becoming more available in the public eye and genuinely seems to be enjoying his life, his work and his band again. that said, the late night talk show circuit is an entertainment machine. shouldn't expect hard hitting questions or revelatory answers. then again, we may be surprised at anything when it comes to axl rose, so who knows?

but purely of my own request and conjuration i would love to hear an in-depth interview with axl by terry gross. prob'ly my favorite interviewer ever. a sit-down with tavis smiley would also be pretty cool. his questions are very thoughtful and evocative.

i'm not much of a fan of charlie rose. he frustrates me and i don't appreciate the way he interrupts his guests while they are trying to answer his questions. i think he is sincere, but he comes across as trying to lead people to the answers he wants to hear. imo, his format and style works best in a round table discussion with several guests at once, not a direct one-on-one interview. also, i suspect he is functionally snockered most of the time he is on the air. just a hunch.

not my first choices, but i wouldn't complain to see rose v rose.

I think it's going to be awesome for us to see someone interviewing Axl who has never done it before. We've all seen the Kurt Loder and Eddie Trunk interviews a thousand times, I think it's a fresh approach to see Axl interact with someone new.  Smiley

I can't wait for this, but I think people are expecting too much. It's a comedy show, Axl will be on for 10 minutes, they'll throw some jokes around, and talk about the Residency. It's not going to be "in depth", it's just gonna be a fun show. (I only bring this up, because you know there'll be people bitching about how Jimmy didn't ask the "right questions" and blah blah blah....

How old is Charlie Rose?  Isn't he like 100?  Can someone please tell me how that would be fun to watch?  I don't love Jimmy Kimmel, but he is fun, and the interview should be really cool to watch.

Bodhi & Axlrosegnr are both right - Charlie Rose is an annoying fossil and the Jimmy Kimmel interview will just be fun - which is fine by me.

Bloomberg's also the NY mayor who did the soda ban, right?

Yes, he is the mayor of NYC  who banned the super size soda. I can see both sides of the issue. I can't really comment too much further on it though.
