Awesome news! I would have though that if Axl/GNR did another sit down, especially with a talk show host, it would be with Jimmy Fallon.
yeah, but Kimmel is on the west coast where Axl will be at that time in preparation for the upcoming shows. So geographically it makes more sense than flying across the country to go on Fallon and then flying back to do the shows.

GREAT news, I cannot wait for this.  peace

It will just be great to see my favourite musician ever, have a nice chat and talk with a host. I can't wait to see what questions will be asked, and how Axl's attitude is in general in regards to the interview.

Thanks Axl and GN'R for just being there.  ok

So I told my boss that I may be late to work on the 25th and why. She told me to record it.  I had no words to describe why I want to see it live.  Of course I'm going to record it! But I need to see it live too!  yes

I then told her that it'll probably get cancelled last minute, and silently made plans to stock up on Red Bull for the morning of the 25th.  I'll stay up late to watch it dammit, and I'll be to work on time.  ok

It should definitely be a lot better than Eddie Trunks lame interview, which was eerily similar to this...

Bahahaha! This made my day ... definitely reminds me of when they asked him who his favorite bands were.  Maybe Kimmel will get to the bottom of Axl's favorite color.

Cool!  I've never seen this guy's show but yeah I would have went with Fallon.  He stays away from the touchy subjects AND Axl could have played beer pong.  Cheesy

They all stay away from the touchy subjects.  All late night talk shows are run the same, as far as the interviews are concerned.  The guests are pre interviewed, so they pretty much set the stage for what is going to be asked/discussed.  So I wouldn't expect any great revelations or anything.  It's just a way for Axl to promote himself, the band, the Vegas shows, etc., and have some fun while doing so.

I think you're generally right, but I'd argue that Letterman actually enjoys digging into the touchy subjects with his guests.  Half of his schtick is making his guests uncomfortable.  Regardless, though, I think Kimmel's a good choice.

Didn't Eddie claim that he 'was going to ask all of the tough questions' or something like that?  It was cool to see Axl interview again, but that interview was awful.  I think the only person who would not be afraid to ask him tough questions anymore is Howard Stern.

I love Stern but he knows squat about music and his interviews w/ musicians tend to be the same sex questions....

The biggest problem with Axl going on Stern, is the timing.  I can't see Axl giving an interview at 8am.  Unless of course he was up from the night before.  Stern would give him the ability to speak freely for as long as he'd like pretty much.  IF that was something Axl was interested in doing.  If he ever REALLY wanted to let loose and get some points across.  That'd be the place to go.  Of course that could end up backfiring depending on what is said.  An interview like this (Kimmel) is much safer and good for promotion.  I just don't think we'll get anything substantial out of it.  But it'll be fun to see, and that's all that really matters.

Axl should save the extended explanations for a book.  You know, if we're moving on lets keep moving forward.

Can't wait to watch it.  Axl always seemed to have a great sense of humor.  Glad he's doing press again, the music industry needs a breathe of fresh air like Axl.
