Guns n? Roses to Rock India in December 2012

What an impressive year this is turning out to be ? David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Opeth, Lamb of God, Kreator, Korn in September and now there is news of iconic Rock Band ? Guns n? Roses coming to India this December.

Starting December, the Guns and Roses India tour will encompass three cites, namely, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. The tour will commence with a concert in Bangalore at Palace Ground whereas other venues are yet to be disclosed.

The tour has been organized by live events company Mooz Entertainment who are also responsible for bringing American alternative metal band Korn to India for the first time in September this year.

Guns n Roses has come a long way since their break up in 1994. Everyone will have the same thing in mind, ?GNR without Slash?? what is that going to be like. Well, rest assured, it will be nothing short of epic. With a gigantic fan following in India the band?s songs like ?November Rain? and ?Sweet Child of Mine? have single-handedly been responsible to get the Indian population listening to Rock Music and inspired so many musicians.

It will be quite the treat. Let?s hope the entire Metallica-Delhi fiasco doesn?t repeat this time.

Current members of Guns n Roses include:

Axl Rose
Dizzy Reed
Tommy Stinson
Chris Pitman
Richard Fortus
Ron ?Bumblefoot? Thal
Frank Ferrer
DJ Ashba

Oh god, why did they choose anything from Rock in Rio, they could have selected a sample from various other recent concerts that were much better.

Speaking to Radioandmusic.com (RnM), Mooz Entertainment VP marketing Dilip Ramachandran said that GnR fans will be treated to a world class show. "In terms of all light, sound, stage and other requirements, we will be following the Guns N Roses International Tech rider . In effect what the audience will see and hear is exactly the same exacting international standard. The production value of the concerts and the quality of sound & light will be awesome," Ramachandaran said.

He said the concerts would be the biggest of its kind ever to be held in the country and every base was being covered to ensure it went without a hitch.

"Mooz is gearing up for an unbelievable turnout, possibly the highest turnout ever for a rock concert in India. Our conviction comes from the fact that GnR is one of the most iconic and legendary bands of our times. We are committed to the safety and well being of each and every concert attendee and that includes impeccable security detailing. We have contracted the top security agencies in all three cities and have detailed SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) on every aspect of crowd control, security and emergencies. Apart from top notch security agencies , Mooz doesn't compromise in terms of venue barricading and logistics . All venue crowd management is as per proven International norms," he said.

He said the company would also undertake a detailed Pan India media blitz prior to the event. The buildup would include extensive marketing & BTL (Below the Line) activation plan, which will ensure ample publicity to ensure the right amount of publicity.

"Our core philosophy is to enable and empower the Indian Fans to enjoy international acts that are relevant and current . We intend to get the biggest acts to India, nurture the domestic music scene  and make it a habit for Fans to enjoy live entertainment .We want the Indian fans to command as much power as their counterparts in other countries and eventually make every artist think twice before giving India a miss," he added.

Guns N? Roses confirms inaugural appearance in India

Monday, October 22, 2012

Bangalore: Iconic American hard rock band Guns N' Roses and MOOZ Entertainment, the company that is promoting the tour have confirmed the band's first ever appearance in India with three dates in December, announced today. Guns N' Roses will be performing in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Gurgaon on 7th, 9th and 12th December, 2012, respectively.

Karamjeet Singh, Senior Vice President, MOOZ Entertainment said, "MOOZ Entertainment is bringing home the Kings of the Jungle, Guns N' Roses! ....Our effort is to give rock fans in India a full frontal feel of the GN'R experience. In effect what the audience will see and hear is precisely geared to exacting international standards. Karamjeet added, "So welcome to the jungle, come live the legacy."

Guns N' Roses are extremely excited to tour India:

"It has been a life long dream of mine to visit India. I've always been fascinated by it's ancient culture and influential people. To be able to experience some of that while rockin' and rollin' with Guns N' Roses, how awesome is that going to be? I can't wait! For all of the GN'R fans in India, the wait is almost over! See you in December," Dizzy Reed (keyboards)

"There are very few places in the world, left for me to cross off of my "must see before I die" list. India is at the top of that list, so needless to say, I am thrilled that we will be playing there. I've always been fascinated by the culture, the music, the art and films of India. I can't wait!" Richard Fortus (guitar).

"I've wanted to go to India since the first time I saw the James Bond movie Octopussy!!!! I'm totally looking forward to it!" Tommy Stinson (bass).

"I'm sooooo looking forward to coming to India!! To experience the culture, meet the fans and make new friends. And the food... I'm a 'hot pepper junkie', and you guys know about *hot* - ah yeah, I'm soooo ready Smiley Thank you for having us!" Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (guitar).

"Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that i would be playing a concert in India. I am truly fortunate and can't wait to see the Indian people go crazy for GN'R," Frank Ferrer (drums).

"I am looking forward to performing for the beautiful people of India! This has been a lifetime dream of mine. Together we are going to create a party that people will talk about for years to come!" Dj Ashba (guitar).

Fernando Lebeis, manager, "We are thrilled to finally have GN'R in India and know the fans have waited many years to see them live."

I agree, people who live in countries where GN'R will always come when they tour, take it for granted sometimes. I myself know I'm very lucky to live in the UK, where Guns frequently do a mini UK tour when they are in Europe. People in places such as India must think if they will ever get a chance to see Guns N' Roses live in concert. Well now they can, and I hope GN'R have made alot of dreams come true by doing this.  beer
