omg, strep throat.  I wondered why Neil wasn't asking where Axl was for the group sing.  Also why Axl was keeping his distance from the kids.  That was a lot of fun maybe they can come back next year.

Cool show. Patience was awesome. Other songs a little up n' down. Strep throat explains it though. Hope he'll be fine quickly.

Did Axl go to Neil's barbecue the night before?

No streaming tonight, so we'll have to depend on Facebook and Twitter feeds. Hopefully more special guests to come and a setlist change that'll be on You Tube by tomorrow.

Axl donates his time and talent and there are still people complaining?  People who were not even there, critiquing Axl like they are Simon Cowell?!?!  LOL.  Axl on his worst day is better than Eddie Vedder.  How often do you get to hear GNR play an acoustic set like this?  I am not sure why people expect Axl to scream and use his raspy voice on an acoustic set.  It wouldn't fit.

Fernando Lebeis: What an amazing show yesterday, even with strep throat, Axl killed it. So awesome to watch Eddie Vedder perform! Great how it went down, as we were walking to stage, Neil's people asked to see if Eddie could perform a few songs; Axl's like, "For sure!"... what a great show, hats off to one of the best weekends I have had.

tommy_stinson: I forgot to tell EDDIE VEDDER that i really dug the last Pearl Jam record. Damnit!!!! What a good egg he is.

DjASHBA: Many thx to each n everyone of you who spent 5 bucks to help out the Bridge School Kids together we made a difference!! Thank you so much!

DjASHBA: 26th Annual Bridge School Benefit w/ @gunsnroses What a night to remember. Blessed to be here! http://t.co/wVAHRkNU

Chris Pitman: now THAT was fun! a gig to never forget

Jarmo - Can you please confirm or deny whether tonights show will be streamed also? Everyone says yes, but someone just said they e-mailed a Ustream rep and they said only last nights show would be up again for tonight.

I thought the same, apparently Ron says different! We'll see in a few hours.
So cool to see Vedder perform before GN'R.

I understand better about the voice now, hope Axl feels better in Vegas!

If anyone is interested, I uploaded Vedder's performance from last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KluHwisXXrQ&feature=plcp

It's ok Ron, it was a bit confusing anyway to stream only one night I think. Wink

I was at the show last night and here is what I noticed:

GNR got a huge round of applause from the entire stadium when their names were mentioned. Every song seemed to be received well, and I probably heard their name mentioned the most in passing. Things like "I've never seen Axl in person, but that was incredible!" The vibe was completely positive.

The band interacted with the kids which was awesome.

I saw a post concerning the swearing in "You're Crazy," it seemed he omitted some words in the first chorus, but at the end it just came out. No one noticed, and I'm sure he's not the first one to swear at this show. These are tough kids, a word won't hurt them Smiley

Playing "Used to Love Her" was hilarious as the second song. It just made them seem so badass. Also, they probably had the nicest acoustics the whole night. The guitars were so rich and full, and the bass during "Paradise City" was incredible.

Axl's voice was amazing. Strep throat or not, my god was he on. The first verse of "Jungle" was spotty, and he ran out of breath, but that's to be expected on a cold night. I heard no complaints, and the mood was exceptionally positive for them.

Most of the voice was a high-falsetto, which was very interesting for "Better." They slowed the tempo down and it sounded very exotic. His voice on "Sweet Child" was heavenly, and like another poster said, by far the best version I've ever heard of it.

When he did let the rasp out, it was soul-piercing. Especially on "Paradise City," when he would yell "beat it!" it was almost demonic. When Axl does this he is beyond comparison. Unique, incredible and inspiring, to say the least.

I've seen them 4 times, all during the '06 tour. I'd say this was the best show I've seen of theirs. Something was magical about it, and it was so much fun. I was in the lawn, and they were the only show where I never looked at the screen. The crowd, their energy and the whole deal was just amazing. Axl seemed to be in a great mood, and ended by thanking everyone for inviting them to play.

I don't know how it was on video, but they dominated the stage. For an acoustic show to have that much energy and bite, it was breathtaking.

I'm sure tonight will be just as good, if not better  beer
