That's where he stood for the hour long show. The Roots were on the other side of the stairs. The guest guitarist spot isn't an interview. The guitarist shows up, Jimmy introduces them and mentions whatever it is they are promoting at the moment. In this case the Bullyville and GNR Vegas shows got a plug. Jimmy sounded like he planned to be at the Vegas shows. Said something about seeing him there. Really genuine warmth exchanged between Jimmy and DJ and he gave him a little more attention then I've seen him give others.
DJ got a small featured solo. He leads them into and out of commercials with The Roots backing. They may play all during the commercial breaks.
It was pretty funny when they were doing the pros and cons of shark week. Jimmy said something about the synchronized swimmers being more scarey then the sharks, they were, and they cut to DJ--lol He kind of leaned in to examine the photos on the screen and you could tell from his face he got the joke.
It was fun seeing DJ on the show. He came off really well if you ask me.
