I listened to about half the record before I fell asleep last night. I heard some things I like and some things I didn't. I tried not to read the reviews on this thread before listening to the album and when Anastasia came on I remember thinking "oh this had better be the most positively reviewed song on the album". Its very very solid.
Halfway through the album, but I don't think its amazing. Its good, but not great. I hope the last half impresses me. I love hearing Slash play, but Myles on this record just does not do it for me. I have nothing against him, I loved him on the first album for his two songs, and I loved him on tour with Slash the first time around, but I am just not digging his vocals for an entire album.

As a whole, it is probably Slash's most consistent, focused effort since he left Guns.
I love Contraband, but from start to finish this album seems to really flow well and doesn't wander too much. The first solo album ended up feeling like a mismatch of genres and styles and as a body of work had no consistency.
Its funny that you said this Naupis because that is exactly what I loved about the first solo album. I loved how it was constantly jumping around. I thought it really pushed Slash to be more creative.

After regular listens, it's a good album. Perhaps doesn't have the 'variety' of the last one, but that's expected. Solid guitar work and vocals by Myles, he has won me over. The man's vocal range is just incredible (ending of Far and Away)
There are only a few songs I don't listen to much - like Halo and Bad Rain.
Love the talkbox groove on Carolina.

It's funny, lately deluxe editions are becoming a norm, and oftentimes, the bonus tracks are as good, if not better, than the "regular" version of the album. That's definitely the case here as "Carolina" and "Crazy Life" are two of my favorites on the album!
My other favorites are "Anastasia", "No More Heroes", "Bad Rain", and "Shots Fired", although the whole album is solid and I don't find myself skipping songs as I listen to it. Slash is solid throughout; I love that oddball soloing throughout "No More Heroes".

This is a good album. It's very even and consistent, which I appreciate. The best songs to me are "Standing in the Sun", "Anastasia", "Not for Me", "Far and Away", "No More Heroes" and "Bad Rain". Slash's playing is great on this record. His ear-pleasing, unique and identifiable tone as well as his wonderful sense of melody are on full display here. I really do think Myles is a great talent and has great technical ability as a singer. However, as evidenced on "Hard & Fast", Myles' tone in his upper register is abrasive to my ears. I do enjoy his vocal tone that he frequently employs in his lower register (a great example is "Open Your Eyes" by Alter Bridge), but he obviously he does not always use that tone. His melodies are good for the most part, but I've never felt he's a great lyricist. The band however is fantastic and they're cohesiveness with Slash is very clear and noticeable.
My biggest question now is, where does Slash go from here? He explored a variety of different genres and styles on his first record, and now he's returned to his comfort zone stylistically. How many times can he make this kind of record before the law of diminishing returns sets in for the audience? Of course, that point is different for different people, but after listening to this record, I couldn't help but think of Angus Young and AC/DC. At a certain point for me, there was a complete and utter disinterest in hearing a new record from AC/DC as I had such a strong gut instinct that was reinforced more and more over time that there would be little to no stylistic explorations on new records. I hope that listening experience I had with AC/DC does not hold for Slash.
Nonetheless, perhaps, making a stylistically varied first solo album allowed Slash to return to his roots or comfort zone with the results he did here. Here's hoping it keeps up.

..Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.
About six months ago when I was ordering the debut Slash "solo" disc, I came to a conclusion.
I love Slash
I really had no idea that I did. I started thinking about things. I love Guns N' Roses. I kind of dig Velvet Revolver, though I'm still disappointed by it. I even bought Slash's Snakepit, though I didn't keep it very long. Well, if I'm spending my cash on every project Slash undertakes, how can I be anything other than a fan of the man? So, here I now shout it from the mountain tops: I'M A FAN OF SLASH!
This is really funny to me considering back in eighth grade how much I hated "Sweet Child o'Mine," and how I still do. I don't buy every album he puts out or has put out for him, but I at least check out something from all of his projects. What can I say? I'm a fan (apparently).
