Although it sounds close to Axl's and Slash's sounds (and I even believed for a minute), it's not GNR. The same Brazilian page posted an updated claiming that the band told them it's a fake:

Yes...hard to tell.Vocally sounds like Axl, music-wise...you could guess that's Robin's playing.We'll find out eventually.

So, I reached out to Stephen via instagram, and he, apparently, did not post to mygnrforum. I had commented on one of his insta posts thanking him for "setting the record straight" that the track was not gnr. You'll see his responses, below:

He didn't really confirm or deny anything.  He basically just wanted to say he hadn't really talked to anyone about the track.  He didn't volunteer any information or clarification, other than what you see above, and I'm not going to push any further.   I'd say he was being Coy, but I don't want poor Coy Clarke to have to comment again, like it's "my favorite pillow, part 2" (though, i think it kinda is..they just recast the leading man). And besides...Coy did comment, pretty much as soon as he was aware of the confusion, to take credit for MFP.

I'll let other people pester him if they so desire to see if they can get him to comment one way or the other.  I'd be surprised if it was actually GnR (though it's possible, I guess, and he's doing some production for them), but I think, either way, the "mystery" sort of helps whatever purpose he has in posting these clips, etc. But, suffice to say, he's been made aware of the discussion/confusion, at least. What he does now is up to him...but the real him, not some troll posing as him.

At this point, we know the video that was posted was directly lifted from Stephen's instagram account.  That's enough for me.  I can watch it unfold, there, and see what comes from all of it, when he's ready to share.

Looks like this guy started posting song clips and tagged GN'R, so some assume it must be new GN'R tracks.
Judging by his Instagram, it's been going on for months.

Suddenly we all know of him thanks to this.

I mean...no one associated directly with the track has claimed that it IS GnR...so there's probably not any direct reason for "management" to say it's not. I know that we fans are "confused"....but I'm not sure our confusion is GnR managements problem. They've never claimed anything in relation to the track...so it's really up to the track creator to chime in (or not) as they see fit.

I think it's safe to assume that "real" GnR material wouldn't surface on the instagram account of a musician not directly associated with the band (esp one who doesn't have an extensive history of producing other people's music).  He obviously is heavily influenced by GnR....he mentions in his bio that he uses Alnico Pro II Slash APH2 Pickups and that he's done work demoing them for the company that makes them. He's worked with Chad Atkins (who fronts a GnR Tribute band) in writing original music in the past.  I'd say that, alone, would explain some of the "Gnr-ish" sound...and the (many, many) hashtags he's using.

Figured as much.  Thanks for clarifying.  In retrospect, I would have to imagine any "producer" working on GNR tracks would likely know to guard them like the music equivalent to the Manhattan project.
