They also did the Comcats/Dodge/Meadows/whatever it's called now amphitheater in Connecticut back in Nov of 2011. It's an indoor/outdoor, though, and I'm assuming they had it closed up for that show.
Yes, it was closed. So it acted like an indoor venue.
Hartford was chilly that time of the year!
/jarmo
It was quite cold that night. Had to drink quite a bit to keep warm.
I've been to a bunch of outdoor concerts there and it's more about the experience. I loved the more intimate feel with it closed off. I'd love them to play there again. Had an awesome time!

jarmo..has Axl ever said anything about his preferences or feelings about playing indoors vs outdoors... i don't remember reading anything about that before... just curious
I can't remember. I would assume it's more about the crowd. You can have an amazing venue with a boring crowd, and a pretty crappy venue with an enthusiastic crowd.
I think most artists would choose the latter.
But intimate indoor venues do have their own atmosphere.

Yeah, I've seen a shit ton of shows there. From Aerosmith to ZZ top. It's a decent venue....though I'm not a HUGE fan of occupying the lawn.
I don't think I've ever been to one of the shows with the venue closed up...at least not that I remember. It would be relatively small, closed off..which would be neat!

The Vegas crowd were a subdued bunch. Is that typical of the US? I'm used to UK. The gigs in Glasgow and Manchester stood out for me as the crowd was insane. I always think it's a good sign if your soaked in sweat when leaving a gig.

It seems to depends on the city, weekday and so on.
It's the same in the UK, some crowds in certain cities are more lively than others. Don't know if it's because of the city, or the venue or weekday though.
In some places, even if you have a seat, you stand up. In other places you'll get yelled at to sit the fuck down!

Yeah, Glasgow was a Friday or Saturday. I think it's changed over the years as 2006 UK tour the crowds were a lot more lively. But that is accros the board. People stand with their mobile phones out throughout which is a shame & must suck for the artist.

The Vegas crowd was very subdued... I'm not sure why... I think because the crowd included a lot of older very casual fans... A few times I ran in to people or meeting people at the poker tables, and they would ask me about my shirt from the show.. and 4 people said wow I didn't know about it, and said they were going to try and check out the next show.. I suspect that happened a lot.... people on vacation who decided to go see Axl over Elton
stuff like that.

I don't care what type of venue you are in. But if you are there to see a rock concert. You stand. You stand. You shake your hips. You groove to the music. Dance in the isles
I have been told many times to " sit the fuck down". Not a chance. And I am not one for cursing in public, but this one time this chick would not shut up about it, and just like Axl back in the day I looked and her man and said, " you better shut your bitch up before I shut her up for you". Lol, looking back the poor girl probably had my ass in her face the whole night wiggling hahaha
Drink and rock shows. Stand up and dance at rock shows.

No one is saying that, but this point (that CD was not commercially successful, despite the fact that it didn't do all that bad) seems to be stressed over and over again with the spin that Axl is fucking up. Really, if we all like CD, then he must not have fucked up that bad.
But anyway, as for me, I think I'll take a break soon. Even in the short amount of time I have been here we already talked about the same things at least ten times over. It's almost like it's not really the discussion that matters. It has changed into more of a rally of sorts, DX and friends VS Jarmo and friends. Nothing wrong with it, but I feel like we'll have a lot more fun around here when we have something to talk about. But just because Axl isn't giving me anything to talk about doesn't mean he's going about it the wrong way. I know, don't let the door hit you on the way out right? But a lot of it has to do with me spending too much time on here being unproductive more than anything.
Well guys, this is it for me for a while! I'll miss you (especially Mortis Murphy)! See you when an official statement comes around regarding the next album!
I had to go back and find this post. As I haven't read anything for awhile
Trust me I agree with you about the senseless debates that go around and around like a blind dog chasing its tail.
And I don't know about these sides.... The only side I am ever on is TheBaconmans side, it's a good side, even though it's my left side. I am always right

You should check out weekends and late nights here more often. It seems like the unwashed masses you speak of, usually only post durring banking hours.
Which is fine. I work shift work. And like Axl. Am a huge night owl. But I have two small kids. That like to wake up early. So ya I like coffee haha

So here I sit, with my two minions in bed, watching gnr live videos from 2000-2006. Prime time baby
And I think to myself.
Why can't Axl call the boys back. At least for some studio work
We have a bunch of material in the can ready for the machine
Why not get the boys back to. Top it up!
Robin..... I am not asking you to go on tour, but damn you wrote some killer tracks I have recorded. I have a few mellodies I can't get out of my head and I would love for you to come into la for 2 weeks and just top up some things on the album we are about to release
Bucket....... Hey dude. Ya sorry I didn't get the album out soon enough, and the tours kinda went south... Dud listen, I am going release an album right away. 12 songs. You wrote the music and melodies too 9 of them. The other three I would love to have you do a guitar solo on. Think about 2 weeks in the studio?..
I have a huge ego.
But
As I just posted
If you just suck it up. You will get great results.
I bet those two above would love that call

It's been pointed out previously I think. But apparently some still choose to believe the record companies are the good guys and only GN'R has had any issues with theirs.

Yes the record company always plays a role good or bad. However why do we know about MIA?s issue? Because she made public. She explained the problems. And that?s the right thing to do.
Unfortunately for us we don?t have any explanation from the GN?R camp. One can always guess that something is wrong. But I?d rather be informed.

Mb if the label pushes to release another greatest hits album that would pressure Axl to release some new music
Right now it seems both the label and Axl are quite content with the status quo. I am not! I want music!
