NOOOO!! I meant to offer up Sgt Peppers, The Wall, and American Idiot as the exceptions...meaning the ones that have actually "worked".   There are others, but there are far more that have fallen flat.

Sitting here listening to Chinese Democracy for the first time in a while right now.

I'm thinking, compared to last time, how much of a different situation we might be in if nothing leaks from the next album. We'll have a board ready to discuss 10-15 songs none of us have heard before, and all of us hearing them at the same time. It's sort of a incomprehensible feeling for a GNR fan.

Hope nothing leaks really.

If they can make it work somehow, I can be onboard with that. By experimental I have OMG-type songs in mind, I think they mastered that particular type of song pretty great.

But, I would like the album to feel "whole". Having a lot of different styles on the same album could easily make it sound messy. It also depends on the listener I guess - if you care about listening to the album from start to finish or are just interested in one song at a time, not being bothered about the sequence.

The Replacements have scheduled shows in Europe in late May, early June.

I don't see any touring for GNR until the fall, if at all.

And I'm good with it.

I'm with you. If I got the choice between album and tour, I choose album every time.

Would anyone seriously pick a tour over a album?

With guns track record however we have a better chance of seeing a tour though

I could see if the boys were in the studio working on stuff, but it sounds like they are all worried about there bands and gnr has almost become a side project for them.

To stay positive, I am sure Axl doesn't need anyone Around if the stuff if mostly recorded and it's just a manner of figuring out what he wants to do with it

well, they won't tour without DJ and Tommy.

I would like guns n roses to be these guys number 1 priority.

It's becoming more like guns is a side project to them

Maybe Slash and Duff are secretly back in the band and are putting finishing touches on album 4 and 5 of the trilogy? 

Duff might not be too far fetched. With Tommy more involved with The Replacements lately, who knows.

But is there much of a future in that?

Based on what Axl has said about the subject, there's a chance Duff might be involved with some recording in the future. Being realistic I don't see him joining full time, but maybe some guest appearances/song writing on future material.

If he were to join full time again, we're back to the Bucket/Finck/Brain situation if they decide to release the Chinese material first. Not ideal I agree.

Plus... we don't know if Duff would accept being an employee vs a member ...which obviously he had an issue with when he departed originally.... among other things.

Ya that would be one weird dynamic.

The only "alas" scenario here is you, attempting to magically discern what people are thinking, or will be thinking via your internet connection.

I am personally glad reality isn't nearly as dire as you paint it in your little fantasy world.

I'm in the "good thing" camp.

I say that plans change, and the mere fact of plans and situations changing over the years is absolutely no reason for you to jump to the conclusion that "you cant take him at his word".

Shit happens, plans change, situations change-

I'm sure that the new album will be released when it is ready, regardless of what hissy fits people on message boards throw.

But apparently the track record "excuse" can be used on the band and its members, but not regarding certain fans. Hypocritical.


On that note, would you rather have a 74 minute album, or a "shorter" album and some bonus tracks later?

Look, Dj said that at a time when the SixxAM tour was already announced.

Isn't it safe to assume that GNR's tour plans starts in May at the earliest?

Why would he say that GNR will be touring if there was no plan to begin with? Makes no sense.
