The album will be ready when it is ready, has zero bearing on what your self- important "statements" online say.

It's a fan board, people have different opinions. It's in the nature of the "fan" to speculate and discuss around something as big as an album release.

True.
But apparently the track record "excuse" can be used on the band and its members, but not regarding certain fans. Hypocritical.

On that note, would you rather have a 74 minute album, or a "shorter" album and some bonus tracks later?

What part of "nobody owes you" do you fail to understand?

The part where that is relevant to the discussion being had right now.

You can't deal with the fact that you aren't  owed a thing, so you attempt to be dismissive and aim derision at others on a personal basis? Hope that works out for you.

I'm doing OK with it.

When my answer to every single topic that ever comes up about anything around here starts being the same exact thing regardless of circumstance, I'll know its time for some pretty serious self evaluation.

74 minute album, no question.

The "bird in the hand" concept rings especially true with this band.

Hmm... that's a tricky one I think. The 74 minute album opens up for some long epic songs. On the other hand I think GNR would be best served with releasing a hard-hitting album next time. Lots of cool rocker songs. One, maybe two ballads.

An high-energy album around 50-60 min would be cool with me.

What's your take?

It kinda depends. If you're going for a theme, maybe a certain song won't fit that theme. Then it would make sense to release it as a B-side.

On the other hand, if the theme isn't an objective, then you could just give the listeners as much bang for your buck as possible....

How could you see them releasing potential B-sides? I'm asking because I honestly don't know. Back in the day they would be included on the singles, but nowadays all singles are digital, right? Or do they still release physical cd-singles?

Maybe B-sides included in a special edition of the album - a bonus disc?

Yeah, I think it would be digital. Or maybe vinyl! Vinyl singles still exist....

Speculating and discussion are great, the negativity gets to be a bit much at times as do some of the constant criticisms imo.

I'm very amped about the upcoming release and I'm working extra hours so I will be able to take off and travel for the tour.

Didn't you find that odd?  I did.

They are allegedly sitting on all this material, right?

Not really considering the circumstances. Everything went haywire with the whole release process, the single releases after the Chinese Democracy single went well under the radar for some reason. Seemed to me like Axl wasn't 100% behind what went on, and they didn't put too much thought into the singles (apart from the first one).

3 singles were released from CD.

They released them to radio.
Did they release them commercially? There's none in the iTunes store for example.

More savvy marketing at work.

I'll take the 74 minutes album.

I'm not a huge fan of "concept albums", by and large.  I think, with few exceptions (like Sgt Peppers (if it really is one...I waffle), The Wall, and American Idiot), they fall flat.

But that's just me.  I mean..I'd TAKE either one, but...since you asked preference. Wink

As an aside: I wonder how many posters/lurkers think you are conducting stealth focus group research on behalf of the band with these questions/scenarios....I bet more than a few.

For those of you wanting the long album (74 min):

How would you like the mix of rockers and ballads?

70/30 split.  Rockers on top.
