In the video for "The One That You Hated," former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler takes on destructive relationships with his new band. "The lyrics are about two people that are no good for each other, but for whatever reason won't break up," says frontman Jacob Bunton. "Maybe it's the sex, maybe it's the convenience, maybe they're just scared to move on and start over, but a lot of people seem to be attracted to the people that they hate. Love and hate are intimately linked within the human brain."

Although it's an early Adler track, "Hated" was one of the last songs the band recorded for their album. "One night Slash was at the studio and we played him a couple of the songs," reveals Bunton. "When this song started playing, he was grinning ear to ear, so we knew either it's a kick-ass song or it's so bad we're making him laugh."

For Adler, the new project is an invigoration, a fresh breath of creativity. "I love the music we're creating!" he says. "I haven't been this excited about my band since the GN'R days." "Hated" is the first single off the band's debut album, Adler. No release date has been set.

well, love him or hate him.
i think Steven has done a good job, and if the rest of the album is just as good....i for one atleast will buy it.

it really shows that Steven has a newfound glow/passion for what he is doing.
and i am happy for him

Just had a listen, sounds pretty good.  I did not expect that.  I am glad to see Steven back playing original music. 

They all look like clich?s. What's with the emo thing?

Yes I agree they look like cliches, but emo??  I don't think it looks emo.  If anything they look like they haven't grown out of the 80's haha.

Honestly I wish I could get in touch with Steven. I really want to congratulate him on his success. Not only did he just recover from heroin addiction but he now has a better band than Slash and arguably Guns N' Roses. They are definitely more straight up rock n roll and it just makes me so happy. I mean this IS what rock n roll is about. The underdog is the reining champ in this case. It almost brings a tear to my eye :'-) I can't wait for this album.

Also how old are you? Rock N' Roll is a young mans game and this is what rock n roll looks like. I understand if your old and just don't get it but rnr is meant to be this way. They look sex drugs and rock n roll through and through there doing everything right and its just incredible.

if this is your vision or RNR, you sir, are too young.
everyone present in the video looks to be a better fit for bands like Aiden, I Am Ghost or even Hawthorne Heights.....that is, all but Steven.
these "kids" Steven has with him looks nothing like the RNR gods i grew up with, Sababth, Purple, Zeppelin...hell even Aerosmith looked more rock than they....

in the end, if the music works, the package works.

WOW!  I really was surprised how much I liked that song.  I didn't care much for the Adler's Appetite EP that was released in 2005, so I didn't know what to expect, but now I'm excited for the new material!  Hopefully Steven can maintain his focus on this band and its material and finally just leave Guns N Roses in the past.

Go to a show when Steven starts touring.  He's generally pretty accessible and loves meeting fans and signing autographs.  I met him in 2004 when he did the "Bad Boys of Metal" tour with Jani Lane and Kevin Dubrow.

Interesting (and harrowing) that Steven is the only 1 of those 3 who is still alive.
