VELVET REVOLVER: 'Let It Roll - Live In Germany' DVD Due In May - Apr. 16, 2012

Eagle Rock has set a May 25 release date for "Let It Roll - Live In Germany", a new concert DVD from VELVET REVOLVER. The disc was filmed at the Palladium in Cologne, Germany in March 2008 for the legendary German TV series "Rockpalast". The concert was near the end of the tour for their second album "Libertad" and came just a few days before the band went on hiatus following the departure of singer Scott Weiland. The set draws heavily on the "Libertad" album but also features tracks from their debut album "Contraband" and covers of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and GUNS N' ROSES tracks.

"Let It Roll - Live In Germany" track listing:

01. Let It Roll
02. She Mine
03. Do It For The Kids
04. Just Sixteen
05. Big Machine
06. American Man
07. Vasoline
08. The Last Fight
09. Interstate Love Song
10. Patience
11. She Builds Quick Machines
12. Get Out The Door
13. Fall To Pieces
14. It's So Easy
15. Set Me Free
16. Mr Brownstone
17. Sex Type Thing
18. Slither

VELVET REVOLVER reunited with Weiland for a one-off performance at the January 12 "Love You Madly: A Concert For John O'Brien" at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California. The band played a four-song set ? including a cover version of the PINK FLOYD classic "Wish You Were Here" ? at the event, which paid tribute to award-winning ASCAP composer John O'Brien, who was found dead in his Chicago hotel room last August.

Weiland reunited with his original band, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, just as his run with VELVET REVOLVER was coming to a close. STP has toured constantly since and recorded a new album in 2010.

VELVET REVOLVER has still not found a replacement vocalist and is more or less on hiatus, although it was revealed that the group recorded an album's worth of material with STONE SOUR and SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor.

Whoooaaaa.... took a while for this one to get out huh?  I am one of the few who liked Libertad a lot.  I saw them on the Libertad tour, and I must admit I felt like it was not the same VR during the Contraband tour.  They just didn't have that same passion on stage.  I look forward to watching this DVD when it comes out.

I dl'ed a bootleg DVD of the brodcast back when it came out. Scott's singing on this one is not exactly the best he's ever sounded, in fact it's downright disappointing at times. Wonder if they'll touch up the material before releasing it? Autotune and such?

Saw them in Leeds on their last UK tour. Weiland was a mess but still put on a great show.

When I saw them for the last time at Brixton shortly before they broke up Scott Weiland was incredible, I got the feeling he was deliberately going as hard as possible to prove something knowing what was coming.

I've watched this show on YouTube and I'll buy it for sure!

I saw time just 2 weeks before the break up and they were awesome.  Very little chemistry though, you could tell all was not well.

Hopefully this one simply stays true to the performance rather than get "cute" like the Houston DVD (I won't go into details, but if you have the DVD in question, you know what I mean).  Also, the Houston DVD obviously had, at least it seems to me, vocal overdubs and I hope this one does not fall into this trap.  Why not show a performance as it was, warts and all?

I have this bootleg. It only works in my xbox though. it is a really good show.. I thought this tour blew away the Contraband tour. I also liked Libertad better than Contraband.

As tippa alluded, this is their second DVD, after Live in Houston, which was filmed in 2005.

Unfortunately for those of us who live in the US, this Live in Germany DVD is not yet available through Amazon and they say they do not even know when or if it ever will be.  Sad

I gotta admit, I seen them in Feb 2008, I think-Scott looked pretty rough (there were already rumors about a relapse at the time), but it was a great concert
