A sweet switch-blade knife...

« on: March 16, 2012, 02:53:47 PM »

This is purely hypothetical. What if some incarnation of GN'R were to play at the HOF ceremony and they opted NOT to play some of the classic hits known to everyone, but rather two (probably not more than that) less well known songs from their back catalog? Duff has said something about daydreaming of them playing Brownstone and It's So Easy at the ceremony. Which "obscure" tracks would you like to hear? My own favourites would be Rocket Queen and Pretty Tied Up... (Preferably with Izzy on sitar...)

it's so easy is an obvious one.  i was listening to locomotive on the way to work this morning thinking how awesome it would be to hear the illusion lineup play that live.

hmmmm.... I would have to go with three tracks never played live by the band!

Don't Damn Me
Shotgun Blues
Get in the Ring

I actually think ending with Get in the Ring would be AWESOME.  Whatever incarnation of the band played, it would be Axl's personal message to the world.  He wouldn't be speaking for anyone but himself with that one.

And of course if I could get one more song I would like My World which also hasn't been played live.

Haha all good dude.  I wouldn't mind Breakdown either.  How about an all UYI 2 set of Shotgun Blues, Get in the Ring and Breakdown?

as AFD and UYI line-ups are inducted...the songs better'd be from that era. and i highly doubt they would perform non-hits like Anything Goes or Breakdown.
so SCOM and YCBM would be very fine to me. exspecially as those werent performed songs at awards shows (jungle, NR and PC were).

or maybe just one cover tune (non GN'R connected) in the end of the show could work aswell - as there wouldnt be a direct GN'R catalogue connection, could make it some easier and maybe even more fun for the members.
