It's Duff and a few other people doing a performance reading of excerpts from his book. So it's like a mixture of songs, and reading to music... he did it a few times when the book was released. I believe Jeff Rouse was one of the backing musicians.

Here is the info - (It does not say he will be playing....) Got my ticket. Row C of Balcony.

On the eve of his induction into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, this intimate gathering will feature a multi-media exploration of Duff ?s career in music, words, video, and sound. Musicians Mike Squires, Jeff Rouse, and Paul Hutzler will accompany McKagan through this hour-long spoken word performance. The room will then be opened up for a Q&A.

There are a limited number of VIP tickets which will include front row seating and a meet & greet following the show.

Books will be available for purchase at the event thanks to the support of Mac's Backs Books.

Tickets onsale this Friday at via Live Nation.

I look forward to seeing this!  I'll be there, too.  Tried for the VIP with 1st row, but no go.  Got 2nd row - I'll take that.  Should be a great weekend!

From an interview with Duff:

March 13, 2012

His appearance at HOB is billed as ?A Punk?s Revue.? McKagan will read selections from his memoir, ?It?s So Easy (And Other Lies)? (out Tuesday, March 20, in paperback), with musical accompaniment by Mike Squires on guitar,
Jeff Rouse on bass and Paul Huxtler on pedal steel guitar. The multimedia presentation will include photographs and video, too.

?I want to make my book come alive,? said McKagan, 48.

?I?m a book nerd. . . . I?ve been to readings. Henry Rollins is a great reader. But I?m not that intense, like he is.

?When I read Upton Sinclair?s ?King Coal? or something, it?s a 3-D story. You?re on that mountain. And you?re in that coalmine. And you smell the mules.
?I thought, ?How do I do this?? My story is 3-D, too, hopefully.

?So I got this band behind me. . . . These guys play music, little snippets from my whole career. Even punk-rock stuff that I read about. It?s really interesting. Really cool. Really fun.?

He did a similar event last year in his hometown of Seattle.

McKagan and GN?R parted ways in 1997. He later hooked up again with Slash and Sorum in Velvet Revolver.

Never mind the inductions for now. Any chance one or more of his erstwhile GN?R bandmates might join McKagan onstage at HOB?

?I don?t know,? he said.

?That would be awesome. I should probably put the invitation out first. I think it would be a lot of fun to get somebody there.

?I?m doing this book thing because I?m gonna be there. If I find out somebody else is going, I?m gonna definitely invite ?em. And maybe get somebody to read a chapter.

?Who knows? I don?t know. That?s a month away, and it seems like it?s about five years away. There?s been so much made of this thing.?

Anyone else getting excited for this show?  Cleveland craigslist had a single VIP ticket for like $275 but I'm going with a friend so I didn't jump on it.  I'm still thinking this will be a show with some cool guests.

For the finale, McKagan strummed an acoustic guitar and belted out the Johnny Thunders oldie ?You Can?t Put Your Arms Around a Memory? -- a fitting theme song for a weekend steeped in rock ?n? roll history.

Sorum added percussion, draped an arm over McKagan?s shoulder and planted a kiss on his cheek. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQJu4b0o9qs
