Ive been debating going to manchester and decided to make one in. Just been on ticketmaster and got a seat in block 102 lol, Theres a block of about 6 left in 102 row t

Nice, see you there...  Wink

I've been debating whether to go to Newcastle if a second 02 show isn't announced soon... oh well it's a waiting game 4 now.  Grin

see you there mate..... i never expected to get a seat lower block next to stage having waited this long  ok

some more tickets must have been made available cos every lower block near stage was sold out last wk when i checked

Just a tip for everyone who wants to go to the Manchester show but can't be arsed paying for hotels etc.....

This is what I do... catch a national express coach to Manchester Airport, probably going to cost you ?20-30. Then hang around the airport until you want to head to the show, I usually wait until around 7.00pm-7.30pm, then just catch a taxi straight to the show. Then after the show, catch a taxi straight back to the airport, and hang around the airport again, until early morning and catch the first coach back to your city.

This method, will cost you ?50-?80 max, baring in mind the taxi fares, but hey you've saved yourself a hotel bill right?.

The airport even has a cheap store, in the car park, kind of like a gas station shop..... so you can even avoid paying the airport prices for drinks, food etc.  Cheesy

This is what I have done for the last 2 times GN'R have played the MEN arena, but this time I want to include attending the pre-party.....which we never seem to organise for Manchester. So this time we will have to think of a place to go, that's close to the arena, for a few pre-show drinks.

theres a bar in the station right next to the venue

Just thought I'd say, there are three Travelodges close to the Manchester Arena and the rooms for the night of the Manchester show range from ?23.50-?25.50 for a twin/double. My other half and I managed to get in there before they noticed the show announcement and got a double for ?19. Sure, it's not luxury, but it's a place to stay for the night Cheesy

Plus, adding travel from Middlesbrough and back by train, the whole thing is only costing us ?35 each, bargain!

Massively looking forward to 1st June in London. They were amazing last time at the O2, best gig of my life!

There aren't many cheap places to stay in London, so think we're going to get some beers and drink in the park after the show and catch the early train in the morning as we did last time. The adrenaline rush from the gig makes staying up all night easy!  Smiley

At the moment, you can only find single tickets on Ticketmaster UK for the Glasgow show.

Victoria Coach Station is quite safe at night time, despite there being some oddballs about. There are usually alot of people resting on seats, and you will normally find a seat to sit on.

Avoid Victoria train station and especially avoid Kings X train station/area during the night. They are usually ok, but you are more likely to meet trouble there. An Eastern European older lady got her bag snatched in front of me years ago at Victoria train station about midnight. I was with her and the police, as I was a witness, for about four hours before I could go home.

Be careful on the tubes too. Alot of pickpockets, especially on busy trains. The pickpockets usually get on last with their arms wide open. If you can, keep your back to a wall if you are not seated. Keep wallets in your front trouser pockets, and never carry your credit cards. Buy a prepaid mastercard if you need to carry a card with you.

If you head towards Old Compton Street or Frith Steet in Soho, you'll find bars/cafes open all night.

Something tells me there is gonna be some extreme motherfucking energy on the 2012 UK run...

Safe travels to all attending, and to anyone on the fence about attending a show.... DO IT! You won't regret it.

Rather than do London, we're going to Nottingham : it's a smaller venue, the town centre is walking distance everywhere, so no need to worry for cabs, and a hotel is barely ?50, which is what a cab home after the London show would be (and avoiding all the hassle). I'm taking my brother - he's never seen them in 25 years!

Love for GN'R since 1987, whatever the line-up

« Reply #237 on: April 17, 2012, 03:37:09 PM »

Haven't posted on here for a while but still carrying the GN'R flag.
Going to three gigs on this tour, never done that for any band before but after Manchester in 2010, I couldn't bare to go to just the one gig so going to Nottingham, Birmingham and Manchester...come on... Rock n' fookin' roll!

See you down the front. Grin
