Since we really don't know who the moderators are and what connection they have to the band, it's impossible to know how to weigh their opinions. They started a thread about the rumors though... it brings a little curiosity.  |

I know I've been labeled part of the 'filth' before but I joined the fanclub about a month and a half ago to check it out since there was a reasonably affordable option. Plus I figured as an insurance policy in case the reunion rumors were true (I wasn't counting on it) I would be able to get first stab at tickets. The forum isn't bad, I really thought it would be more anti-Slash. Don't get me wrong some of those people do exist, but it seems like a decent place to talk about the band including ex-members as long as it is in the right section. The recent contests were solid, but unfortunately I didn't win. Regardless of how people feel about him, I like Fernando giving people occasional updates on what is going on even though they are vague. I think a great opportunity for the fan club is for Fernando and others from the management team to exclusively participate in that forum. Its obvious that band members will never post there consistently, but for the current management team this should be a part of their job. It would potentially drive more revenue and increase fan awareness/interest in the band. All in all I think for the $10 digital membership that came out after I joined, I think its a pretty good price if anything just to have a chance at entering the contests to win. You have a much better chance of winning at that forum than you do with any lottery ticket and they have offered some good prizes for hardcore fans. |
