Overall another great show. I thought the sound was good. Way better than Terminal 5. Great to hear You're Crazy for the first time.  Cool I was front row in the center. Well off to AC in awhile.  beer

Show was just flat out fantastic. Axl seemed to really enjoy himself last night, as did the whole band. Probably my favorite GNR show.

WHERE TO START.. alright so my friend and I showed up around 8pm and drove by the Fillmore.  They had parking for $10 but there was free public parking down the street.  The line was already down to the corner and then nearly another block long.  Picked up our tix at will call and hung out in line till doors opened.  I was kind of joking about other folks saving some posters and t-shirts, by the end of the show the only ones left were the litho poster girl shirt and the naked girl riding gun which i already bought on the last tour.  Everything else was gone, other than a hoodie.  I was lucky enough to get one of Richards picks and my friend caught "DJ's" drumstick and gave it to me right away, so that was real nice.  The crowd was mostly pretty cool, figured that it would be more serious fans, was nice talking with people I was in line with and some people we were standing close to.  We were about 5 rows back from center stage, 1rst couple rows looked like a bunch of Gold VIP's.  A few people were obnoxiosly drunk and was hoping they would get tossed before GN'R but they remained.  We did get security to enter the front and he did shine his flashlight in 2 of their faces to look at their eyes, but he let them stay(you can see those two in top right corner of last crowd pic "santiago-gnr" posted.

Another fratboy type was wearing a burnt out GN'R/Metallica shirt and him and his friend were real annoying for many parts of the show.  He was yelling out stuff like, "Play something we know" on every CD song and by the time Patience came around him and his friend were shouting, "faggots" over and over at Ron&Richard..hope they just die or something.seriously.

Outside the will call there were signs posted mentioning small personal cameras being allowed(no flash/videos).  The first time I saw GN'R a few months ago I did not take any photos, instead just really taking in the show, which was really cool, but this time I wanted to get some photos.  So the Fillmore staff people came down the line telling everyone to put their cameras back in the car.  My friend put his back(he had his cell phone anyway).  I decided to keep my camera anyway and they did not find it during the search.

I did not really care for the first band, Electric Sun, much but they did not play long and there was not a real long wait after them, so far so good.  The singer reminded me of maybe a Mumford Sons kind of person, the kind of music you might hear on a Volkswagon commercial.

Closer to midnight this older guy beside me was mumbling something about needing to work in the morning.  Another guy down front was wearing a "Slash" shirt where "Slash's" face and tophat took up the entire shirt.  He was quiet and just seemed to be a confused type person that went to the wrong concert or something, maybe it was laundry day, go figure.

So sometime close to midnight, can't remember exactly, The lights went down and the "LUCK" theme began to play.  It was crazy but no one was really crammed in too tight, it was overall comfortable the entire shows and the sound was right on.  Axl was singing really good even though it was obvious he was still getting over his cold, so best wishes to Axl.  A bunch of times after songs he tried to say, "Thank You" and nothing came out.  He had a small waste can that he was spitting into a few times as well.  Also there was a problem with BOTH whistles and Axl just laughed.  He was in a great mood, using his boots all over the piano keys, and once even tying up Ron by wrapping orange stage tape all the way around him.  Soon after Ron snuck up behind Axl with the roll of tape but then decided not to return the favor.  The entire band was having a blast.  I think during "Heavens Doors" Axl looked at Tommy's bass and said to him, "we already played that part", kind of laughing at the same time.  Soon after Axl picked up something that looked like a big cough drop off the stage and showed it to Ron, laughing.  Maybe it was Tommy's earpiece..ha

The sign out front said that GN'R would come on sometime after 11pm and the show was over at 2:30 am.  It was already around 2:30 when they were playing Nightrain and I told my friend that I bet they would blast through "Paradise" and that would be it but they did the whole encore, which was impressive.  Not sure if they had to pay a curfew fine because this was def not NYC/AC.  These small towns seem to close up early, but we all knew what we were getting into and loved every minute!!  When someone threw a banner at Axl he rubbed it all over his face as if it was attacking him then held it up for everyone to see.  It was a little after 3am when things wrapped up.  I met the girl who brought the "AXL RSE" license plate.  She didn't get to meet him but someone did take it back for her and Axl added a really nice signature to it.  The parking lot was secure after the show so we didn't hang around.  If this was a bigger city I don't think they would have tried to stop anyone from hanging out, but when was the last time anyone heard of Silver Spring,MD?  A lot of people now but still a quiet little area.

One thing I noticed when I got home this morning around 7am was that there were no tweets from GN'R or others before or during the show??  Later Ron RT's a few that thanked him and the band but I was surprised to not hear much from anyone for such a memorable show..so awesome to finally hear Civil War,You're Crazy,Better,Gran Torino,Shackler's Revenge,Motivation+all the others again!!

I still have more photos but what happened earlier was that I posted one and it ended up all over twitter/tumblr and I don't get any credit.  I guess what I will do is add my name very small in the corner and then I'll be happy that people can share until their face turns blue.  I forget who but someone mentioned giving credit to those who actually take the photos that are posted here??  I am totally cool with that!  If you want to share someone photo, and I have on here before, why not add their twitter name or whatever the source is..Respects

(if any part of my review is not allowed then give me a chance to delete it)

Blurry but it happened quick!  Ron tried to rip it off but ended up having to leave it on for a few minutes.

*my friend just mentioned this earlier and I totally forgot.  A couple hours into the show, between songs, Axl was laughing/joking around and said, "Tell the nice people what they have won"...(short pause)..."A fine dinette set!"   rofl

The guy in the post is Chris Richards, and his review was awful. He made himself sound like an ass, said people didn't play in time, and messed up on guitar licks. Basicly sounded like he's never seen a GnR show before. He called them out for playing boring instrumentals, I didn't read past the first page. The review was just so far off because he doesn't know the band well enough. I know Dizzy Reed isn't original but he's been in the band for 20 damn years. Also, he clearly didn't check on the backgrounds of Fortus or Stinson, who are about as pro as mucisians can get. You gotta just close your eyes and listen, they've always played around with timing and solos. His review was just a total joke, what a tool.

It was a great show, the first few songs definately were muddy but they fixed it pretty quick.

3 freaking hours, that is crazy, who plays for 3 hours straight? Hard Rock Jam Band Heaven!

Yeah those reviews were crap!  One compared the show to a "hostage situation" which is kind of funny because he probably got a free ticket and could leave at any time.  I still have some video but they are avchd format and I am not sure yet how to convert them to YouTube.  PM me if anyone has any ideas.

Remember this girl??  She was holding this plate up half the show.  Axl noticed within seconds of coming out on stage and smiled immediately.  After the show I saw her on the sidewalk and asked if I could take a picture.  She said that she didn't get to meet Axl but someone did take it back for her to get signed.  It's cool to see real fans get stuff signed and not eBayers.  I love buying/selling on eBay but the autograph dealers are scum.  I notice that Axl ends up scribbling "AXL" for many of the dealers.  For real fans he often signs more, like this. Smiley
