Look, dont try to 'win' some silly argument by dropping names like Tracci Guns etc.. Yes we all know that the first time a band called GNR took the stage it was not the appetite line up.  But we also know that the first time the incredible chemistry exploded and created what we now as the original line up.....it was Axl, Steven, Izzy, Slash and duff.  

Give it a rest Jarmo.  As previously stated, I love the new band.  They kick ass.  But the hall of fame has NOTHING to do with them, save for Axl Rose.

I just want new music, that's all I want from the current band. Hell, they could release unfinished demos from a decade ago, I don't care. I just hate to see Axl throw all his musical efforts away in the vault because some artists aren't on them. I just want to see the current band get the recognition they deserve for being a kick-ass band. They could be their own entity, their own group. KISS has new members, they released new albums. Black Sabbath, they released new albums. That's why you hear "the Dio era" when people talk about Sabbath. Axl just has to get a new album out, and promote it heavily. Taking nearly 4 years to release new album after the last album came out 14 year after the last one isn't going to do current GN'R any favors.

Until Axl releases new music, people will just see the current band as a nostalgia act, living off the old band's success.

60 percent of AFD was wrote before Slash or Steven joined GNR.  If you look up what each member is worth you will find that Axl is worth nearly ten times more than the richest guy performing tonight.

Gilby was a member of the band for 2 years, wrote zero music for the band, and finally was fired. But yet you think he deserves more recognition than people like Tommy Stinson or Chris Pitman, who are in the band for the last 16 years, touring the world, writing original stuff, releasing one record, working on new ones, and reanimating the band Slash and company tried to terminate with lawyers for a decade long...

You're so right. And as Zombux said, same for Paul Tobias, who wrote stuff for the ''classic'' lineup (way before Slash joined the band) and for the ''new'' one (for example, Chinese Democracy's masterpiece ''There Was A Time'').

But this is a part of the story the media likes to forget, and so do a lot of casual fans who know jack shit about this band (and now insult Axl for showing some integrity).

This is a complete lie and should not be re-hashed. Two songs were written before Slash and Steve joined: "Anything Goes" and "Think About You". The other ten were written starting from the road trip to Seattle by five guys, with principal songwriters on the different songs.

It's sort of ridiculous how some people just NEEDS to reduce the legitimacy Slash should get. Now resorting to lying about it too, huh?
