The original band is getting inducted, and rightfully so.

Every GNR fan should be proud of it. They were awesome and achieved a lot in a short period of time.

Whatever Axl chooses to do, it's up to him.

It doesn't have to mean A or B.


For example: Just because you go to a high school reunion, and hang out for one evening, doesn't mean you'll start spending more time with the old friends.

And if you decide not to go, doesn't mean you'll never see them.

Artists become eligible for RNRHOF 25 years after the release of their first record so the honour should be received by original members only but credit to all new members is due too.

It's only the biggest news since Rio was announced and it's way bigger than that in a lot of people's minds.

The problem with Jarmo's post about it's okay to go to your highschool reunion and than not see those people again, or not go but still see them again (or anywhere in between, I imagine) is if Axl goes to his highschool reunion everyone in the world who has heard of his school is going to be pleading to go back to that old school, no one's going to respect or want to go see Axl at his nu job anymore. The appetite for those highschool days will be so high and get covered by so many news sources that if he went and performed, then the next week went on to play shows with nu gnr.... people would be pissed because they saw the real deal again, how can they settle for a cover band after that? You'll have lots of people who just saw the old band on stage together and thought "that's cool" than they see "GUNS N ROSES" are coming to town and perhaps rightfully assume it's the guys they saw on tv a couple weeks ago. there would be booing, walkouts, it would be TERRIBLE. I don't think it's possible for the nu band to continue if the old band performs. It would get more coverage than anything GNR related since 1993 and eclipse nu gnr completely.

Keep in mind, not the whole world knows about nu gnr and the nu lineup so this would 100% happen at probably every show from the ceremony on. If not before then. If Axl doesn't go people will call him a prick. The only option for respect from the general public is to call it a day at RIRHOF or reunite with the old guys like 99% of us want.

'NuGNR' will never been inducted 'cause it doesn't exist in the first place. 'Nu' GNR as an institution (and not as a simple and innocent way to differentiate two eras) is an invention of a bunch of resentful slashboys who cant tolerate the band to keep existing without him.  This message board is dedicated to one band and its called Guns N' Roses, no 'nu' nor '2.0' nor anything different than Guns N' Roses.

And I repeat: Chinese Democracy's not the debut album of NuGNR or any other band: is the sixth studio album of Guns N' Roses, the band that will be inducted to the hall of fame next year. The sixth studio album of The Rolling Stones is Their Satanic Majesties Request. The sixth studio album of Guns is Chinese. Period.

Exactly.  Let's not forget that the original Black Sabbath reunited for one performance in 1985 at Live Aid despite their bad blood dating back to Ozzy's termination.  But then after that one night, they went their separate ways again.  Tony Iommi went back to touring as Black Sabbath by himself, and Ozzy continued his hugely successful solo career.  The one-off reunion didn't mean a damn thing towards the aura or legacy of either Ozzy or Sabbath -- and they eventually reunited to tour in 1997-98.

Why would you wish that? If he shows up, it will be because he wants to, and frankly those decisions aren't your concern.
