Was glad they played Better in the encore. What popped into my head near the end was "I feel bad for that poor guy who said he wanted to hear Scraped and Better".

Great show, even with the annoying people in the crowd whining about late starts. None of them went home, so they should've just shut up and enjoyed themselves.

Crowd is kicking ass..

In my section, it  sounded like nobody was singing along for KOHD. I got the feeling that the crowd were dead. Definitely large, but not loud enough.

My sister ran into Taylor Momsen (lead singer of The Pretty Reckless) on the way to the bathroom. She was supposedly being all quiet and mopey. Sad

No OMG yet.

It was really a great show. Honestly, I wanted to beat the traffic out so I left during Paradise City (shame on me). Was there are any played after that?

The band sounded really tight. Axl was a bit quiet in the mix at times, but he sounded just the way you want him to sound. Great set, to me it felt like they catered more to an American crowd by playing more AFD and UYI tracks. At this stage in my life, I would have loved to hear every cut from Chinese instead, but everything they played was enjoyed. Crowd was mixed, some tired folks, some with as much energy as the band. GnR, please come by again!!!!!!!!!!!!

2007 AND 2011 HTGTH Fantasy Football Champ!

« Reply #53 on: November 27, 2011, 12:49:45 PM »

Unforgettable night.
Perhaps I could share a bit about my concert experience, then chime in with my review!
Arrived a little after 7? with my bro-in-law, his gf, and 2 buddies.
The 1st thing we see in the lot (lot 2) is some window washers looking to get some money for cleaning windows.
Tailgating begins, blasting GNR.
I met some great folks, among them Sandman from HTGTH along with his dad and crew.
(btw, I'd love to hear your dad's take on the show...) cool folks.
Met a group of about 9 Colombians.  I offered them some vodka, and they offered me back something that tasted like fire and black licorice.  Good shit.  Smiley
Met a fam. who were bringing their 12 year old son to the show.  good stuff.
Met an angry Irishman.  A gent who was angry with Axl for what went down at the Dublin show that he himself attended.  As he's going off I'm just thinking, "Why are you here then?"
Oh well.  hihi
After doing a couple of wind sprints in the parking lot (I like to run, and well, it felt good!)
Around 9 it was time to get on in to the arena...we all wanted to check out the hottie opening up.  Well, we got about a song or 2 in, and my bro-in-law looked like shit.
He had been drinking a lot, and he's not a drinker.
I got him down to the concessions area and had him drink water and try to process it out.
After a few minutes, with that going nowhere, (he was staggering on his feet, so I supported him all the way) I got him to a bathroom stall.  He was in there for a good amount of time.  I stood outside his stall standing guard.  I must have seen hundreds of guys filing in to use the bathroom.  If you saw a really drunk bald guy being propped up by a dorky tall dude, you saw us!  hihi  He was looking better but obviously not great as he still needed me supporting him to walk.
A security guard recommended he visit medical.  I thought that was a good idea.
So, over over to the R side of the arena, near concessions, was the medical table.  Lots of questions, took his blood pressure, very nice workers over there.
One dude was already there plenty wasted...wearing a LeSean McCoy Eagles jersey///apparently he had his sweatpants around his ankles near some train tracks blitzed out of his mind.
My bro-in-law wasn't much better.  He had his head and arms in a garbage can (couldn't help but think of Double Talkin' Jive lyrics)  hihi

I went to grab his gf (btw, their first date!) from the arena and got her over there with him.  One of my friends checked up on us...and I proceeded to get back to our seats in the 202s, and within 5 minutes, CD was starting!  Awesome!  Fucking electric!
At the beginning of Fortus' solo I ran down to medical to see how my bro-in-law was doing.
He was still out of it.
I got back in time for LALD and This I Love (my fav.).  Awesome!
Once Tommy came on, I went to go check back downstairs and my bro-in-law was stirring.  I bought him a pretzel, had him drink more water...hung with him while missing Street of Dreams and YCBM...I also missed Mi Amor.  Son of a bitch!  I did NOT want to miss that, but fam. comes first.  There was a tv feed of the songs up in the concessions area, but as we all know, that just aint the same!!!
The crowd was going nuts for SCOM as we got back into the arena.

So, there's a lesson here kids...if you're gonna drink, know your limits!!!  If u don't, you might miss half of an incredible show!

23 songs total.
I got 21...but missed DJ's solo.  crying

The place was packed at LEAST 90% full.  I was in 202 and scanned the entire arena.  I was in E. Rutherford, '06, and the crowd was MUCH more into the show last night in Camden.
How the fuck Axl performs with so much energy for over 2 hours and 45 minutes is beyond me.  Hell, how the entire band does it is impressive.

All the guys were great but DJ Ashba is a fucking star!  I didn't even get to see Mi Amor but he tore shit up throughout the show.  He was bouncing off walls, jumping off speakers, fun as fuck!!

I don't have a voice left, but it was worth it!  Great night...This I Love...Estranged... drool   ...and let me say, Axl was on fucking fire with Whole Lotta Rosie!!!  The band tears that song up!!
 peace

Took my two good friends to the show, all I heard the past 5 years is that it's not the original band, it's just Axl, etc .... After 3 hours of badass playing, they both left saying it was the best live show they've ever seen  beer Nuff' SAID !!!!! I'm sad to say that the tour is over for me. Hopefully there is a second leg of the US is 2012 ...

Please post a video of Whole Lotta Rosie.

That was a highlight of the night for me.

DJ is unfuckingbelievable.

Fortus was alot of fun to watch. 4th time I've seen him with GNR. He has stepped up his game and has become a badass rocker.

Best show I've seen. Hands down! I've been seeing them live since 88.

Oh, and Axl, you have never sounded so good. I dont know what you are doing, but keep on keepin on Axl!

Prez - thought that was you in the bathroom holding up someone in really bad shape.  Look a bit different then NY '06 at Hamerstein.  I guess that's what 5 years will do.

I was there with my 15 year old son, and had an absolute blast.  Not much more to say than what has already been said, but what a show....
