Im thinking about staying at terribles, which is basiclly across the street. Rooms are like 153 bucks there. Is that cheap for new years? Maybe ill just drive back to l.a right after the show. Im on the fence about that.

Yeah, that's a good price, considering the Hard Rock rooms are like $420 or something.

Well I suppose it's never too early to talk about pre-party options, haha. Sadly, the Rainbow is no longer there. That pretty much leaves the Hofbr?uhaus (at least in terms of places RIGHT across the street) Of course there's like 10 bars in the Hard Rock itself too. For those of you asking about the new Joint...it's a completely new addition. Where the old Joint was, is now more casino space. They added a couple new hotel towers and a new parking garage. For those of you who haven't been there since 2006, you won't even recognize the place. The new Joint is twice as big, holds 4000 instead of 2000, but still the same up close and personal feeling. It's three levels. The bottom of course is all GA. The second level has tables, and the third has Balcony seating in the back, along with GA along the sides. Just make sure you don't get stuck with the Balcony GA, it sucks. Saw Motley Crue and was stuck up there, it was like I was looking straight down on the band. It was just weird.

Oh yeah, here's the link to Hofbr?uhaus. http://www.hofbrauhauslasvegas.com/

What happened to the Rainbow? I was just there in November 2010, sitting in the same booths where Guns, Aerosmith, and Zeppelin used to hang out.

The "Rainbow" in vegas was just a lame copy of the original in Hollywood.
I'm not really that surprised that it's gone.

Ahh the Terribles. That is where we had our pre concert party last time. Fucking awesome! Not the hotel itself though. My wife hated it. I could sleep anywhere but she flat out said we can't stay there again. It was smelly and a little run down and shit. Location wise was good. I am still trying to figure out where we can stay that is still reasonable money wise. Expedia and price line seems to have some better deals on some place. Hilton is a lot farther right? Anything kind of okay like that hotel closer to Hard Rock?

I would love to do another pre party axlrosegnr, and maybe if someone is staying at a close by place like Terribles, and would be willing to host, I am sure the rest of us could chip in for some beer and some uh... greens smoking  I wonder how many who partied last time will be going to see GN'R for New year's. That was just a great group. Everyone was just cool as hell. I remember we played leaked Chinese Democracy songs and just kind of chilled.

I agree Chief but, the place still was cool for drinks and music. THe decor and atmosphere was certainly better then the other places like the brewery. We will all have to talk and figure out where to meet up. Rainbow was kind of obvious last time. I thought it was alright. Kind of sad to hear its gone.

There is always the Double Down Saloon...it's within walking distance. Down and Dirty rock n roll bar. I think it would be more than suitable.

From their website, lol:

You could try Hooters... its a little bit off the strip on the south part.  It's a little run down, but a short taxi ride to Hard rock.  Rates could be cheaper then other hotels as well.

I'm so jealous of you guys hitting Las Vegas for this on NYE...

I had probably my best GN'R experience in Vegas at the 2 Joint shows in September of 2006, I flew all the way from the UK. This show will be a blast, and will be something to hold as a memory forever.

Enjoy it Gunners.  ok

I really wish that I could go to this show. I can't believe it's been 10 years since I met Buckethead at Starbuck's. I love MGM and the Luxor looks cool. They are a bit of a hike but not too bad. The Stratosphere is kind of a dive, but I LOVE the extreme rides. If you are driving all the hotels have free parking and you can just drive from your hotel to the Hard Rock. Party on dudes! beer

I don't think they are selling balacony GA, but if they do, where exactly do you stand? From the seating map, it looks like all seats.

It's hard to tell from the map, but it's along the sides of the main floor, only 2 floors up.

You could try Southwest out of Midway, going for around $450.

A Thanksgivng Day miracle happened! i decided to look at the American Airlines website and it let me book a 1 way from Chicago to Las Vegas for$340 and it let me use my frequent flyer miles for the return trip back! I found a great balcony ticket on STUBHUB and a great deal on a room at the Hard Rock hotel at vegas.com! And 2 of my friends at work agreed to switch days with me! So my dream is coming true! I get to see GNR at the JOINT!!!!!!

Now I have a question for the locals. How far is IN AND OUT BURGER from the airport and the Hard Rock Hotel. I really needs me an IN and OUT burger! Also is it possible to get reduced price tickets for the ELVIS Cirque du Soleil show?

For those of you needing something else to do in Vegas:

There is a pinball museum/hall of fame there.  Don't get too excited - pretty much a dimly lit warehouse with a bunch of pinball machines, although they all work, they have a lot, and some really rare ones.  Anyways, they have the GNR pinball machine there too.  ok

I've been to the Double Down in NYC - was very impressed by it. Great atmosphere.

Annie, you're in luck. There's an In N Out just east of the Hard Rock on the UNLV. campus. Could probably walk it.

Troccoli, when was the last time you were there? It's been awhile for me, and they didn't have it before. If they got it now I'll go play it today Smiley

Mr. Redman, are the two connected then I wonder?
