The preview of this show has been posted...he talks about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

That Metal Show > Ep. 1 | Slash & Sam Dunn

Slash returns to That Metal Show to discuss his recent homecoming show in Stoke-on-Trent, G N' R's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination, and his upcoming solo album. We're also offered a glimpse into one of Slash?s non-musical hobbies when we open up The Vault. Later, heavy metal anthropologist Sam Dunn stops by to discuss his brand-new VH1 Classic series that traces the roots of heavy metal: Metal Evolution.

agreed. It is hard to accept this as mere coincidence, although we all know it is and theres no reunion happening ever. it's just ..weird ( and probably just publicity now that I think about it). but Hell, it is exciting  ok

The Axl interview was much better, although it was good to see Slash.

I was disappointed to hear Jim Florentine take a not so subtle shot at Axl during the interview when talking about Guns possible HOF induction. He said something to the effect of "if the ceremony is at 7pm you tell some people it is at 2pm and hope they make it on time." It's a paraphrase. But I thought it was in bad taste because Axl had just been on the show a week earlier. Show the guy some respect if you want him to return. No one followed up on this comment and it was quickly dropped.

Later in the show Eddie made the comment that he liked parts of UYI 1 and 2 but not the albums from top to bottom because they seemed to be "too bloated" whereas he liked the in your face GNR from before. And Slash said, "you think?" In other words, he too thought the albums were bloated.

UYI 1 is Slash's favorite between the two, he says it is heavier.

I think the Axl interview was only better because it was an hour long special and the Slash interview was kind of short and they were all over the place. The beginning of the interview was Eddie going off on Rrhof again, which gets old and cuts into the interview.

I agree that the jab at Axl was in poor taste,  although I believe that the Axl interview took place after the Slash interview. In his defense he probably had no idea he would be interviewing Axl.

My other observation was how comfortable the guys felt interviewing Slash as if he was one of the boys compared to Axl where they looked scared shitless like if they said the wrong thing, Axl might walk out of the interview.

I don't know why they couldnt ask slash a follow to the VH rrhof question, and asked something along the lines of if he had to guess today... How does he see the gnr rrhof going down.... Will he and Axl be taking the stage together with the original line up.

Its interesting that both Axl and Slash are honored if they get inducted, so it will be interesting to see how it goes down. I just hope it's not like the VH induction, which was an embarrassment.

Jim Florentine is such a hack.  He always tries to add funny comments, but they always bomb.   He is pretty tasteless too.  Besides wearing some heavy metal shirt, he basically brings nothing to the table.

Slash didn't say it on the show and he didn't say it in that context.  I read the article and all that Slash meant was that the two hadn't smeared each other in the press lately.  He didn't mean that he and Axl had been talking to one another or hanging out or anything.

TMS is the douchiest show on TV... They put the three most uncool looking dorks on TV representing metal.... makes metal look stupid.

Seriously, fuck those guys... GNR will get in on the first ballot CAUSE THEY FUCKING DESERVE TO U Cocksuckers.

GNR are undisputed top 10 all time great rock band. They aren't getting in for shock value or drama or this n that.

They are a first ballot HOF Rock group cause they are better than everybody else.

I re-watched the interview yesterday and I was wrong, it was not Jim Florentine who took a jab at Axl, it was the guy with weird sideburns, whatever his name is. I usually don't like him and think that he never has anything interesting to ask or contribute. Even more so now.

I do, however, like the show in general and I think that Axl respects Trunk or else he would not have chosen TMS to appear on US TV or to grant an interview for the first time since 2006.
