Any word on taking cameras to the venues, how strict are they on this tour

every venue is different for the most part. I would think anyways, i mean some phones have better cameras then some of the digital cameras that are out there now

^^ agreed take one just don`t have it in full view of security when you go in, like the previous person said some phones are better than cameras have a good time

I could have used a digital camera no problem in Orlando. Security in my section was a 65 yr old lady.

Used my cellphone camera, but barely came out watchable.

Yeah I usually am happy with taking a camera phone with a brilliant quality camera on it, especially these days the megapixels you can get on a mobile is unbelievable. I've been using my Nokia N70 ever since 2006, but now I'm going to upgrade to one that's going to be miles better, might be an i phone.

But I would say, if you are going to risk taking a camera, just make sure that you are ok with the risk of it getting taken off you. Because even when you are inside the venue, it's not a certainty that you are going to leave with the camera, especially if security catch you. 

But I suppose it's how lucky you are on the day, with all of the factors considered....

I've been to shows where people are filming and taking photos on an actually camera in front of the security. And then I've been to shows (most notably Las Vegas, The Joint in 2006) where security have actually jumped into the crowd to drag a member of the audience out, who was using a camera.

It's either one extreme or the other.

I don't know if you remember my story of the Hard Rock security taking Axl's mic after the show in 2006, but I can say now that the Hard Rock has completely overhauled their security. The big gorrillas in suits are no more. They have gotten A LOT of complaints and have eased quite a bit. The fired the whole crew and rehired.

They always say no cameras, but then the show starts security never gives a shit and a im pissed I never have my camera, at least at venues around here.  Depends on the venue.  I think  this day and age they have come to realize that stopping someone from taking pictures is impossible what with all of us carrying around mini computers that also make phone calls..

Exactly, until i saw Dream Theater last week no one had ever tried to stop me. Of course, i have never tried using a actual digital camera just my cellphone. I may try to get my digital camera in to the GNR show. Gexa doesn't have the best security. The last time i was there there was a couple a few feet from me taking pics with a digital camera using the flash and no one said a thing.

This is why you either buy a iPhone 4s or a Samsung Galaxy SII. Both have the capability of recording in FULL HD, the iPhone is a bit better since it has image stabilization when you're recording video so if your hands are shaking it doesn't affect the recording.

Security usually doesn't bitch about cell phones. The only problem you have with them is the battery life.

I actually do remember your story, and can fully believe it from what I saw from the security crew in Vegas. I just remember those big security guys jumping onto the front row, and then flashing their torches into the middle of the crowd. And if they saw someone with a camera, they would literally jump into the damn crowd and make their way to the middle to grab the guy and take him all the way back through the crowd towards the exit.

Never saw anything like that in my life TBH, we are talking about people right in the middle of the audience getting taken out, after the security guys have jumped into the audience and pushed everyone out the way looking for the "culprit". 

(I was actually brave and managed to film the whole of Paradise City from the first night. And you can clearly see the security guard looking at me about 5 times throughout the video, but seeing as it was the last song, I think he thought "fuck it"....... I wish more video surfaced from those Vegas shows in 2006, they were mental.)
