You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

This says 19 years -- it should be a really good show.

Guns N' Roses plans first Indiana show in 19 years

Rock star Axl Rose has scheduled his first performance in his home state of Indiana since 1992.

Guns N' Roses will perform Dec. 8 at Conseco Fieldhouse. Tickets, $30 to $75, go on sale at 10 a.m. on Oct. 22.

I rarely ever post on here anymore (You can tell by my icon..), but I couldn't be more excited for this show. After being a fan for years, this is going to be my first.

Yea it also made our local news last night..."hometown rocker returns after 20 years"....already have heard it on the radio 2-3 times since the first announcement. I think it's going to be a HUGE show here! Hopefully it will sell out! I saw them in 1991, 1992 (last time they played was 1992 w/ Farm Aid if that counts, but 1992 was also when they played with Metallica on that tour)...can't wait to see Axl again and I don't have to travel to another state unless I want to (which I think I am, how can I resist seeing more than one date!)....should be interesting if we maybe get a special appearance by Izzy? Or another "Indiana rant" from Axl? Ugh, I can't wait!  love

I am hoping Izzy drops by as well..... I have not had the opportunity to see them since Deer Creek in 91' ....  gonna try to catch two shows in case I have to wait another 20 years   Wink

Would be awesome if Izzy was there.

And if only the late great Shannon Hoon was still with us...a duet on "Don't Cry" would be stunning I'd imagine.  Sad

It's nice to see others on here that are going to the show too!

wow..five hours? So that's like Nashville maybe? I'm struggling to find anybody that will go with me for the much shorter rides to Cincy and Columbus! (my friends are all boring and married)...wish I had a car that would make it...I'd just go by myself! Hey, I figure its their loss!

And Izzy on something old school would be so killer. I unfortunately thought of Shannon Hoon too when I was writing that post. Would have been really cool to see.

This will be my first GNR show ever. I'm only in my early 20's, so this has been my only shot to see them in my home state. Looking forward to it!

I've been getting hyped up for this show. I've been talking about it on Facebook. I've been defending the band on the local newspaper's website. But, since I don't go to a lot of concerts, I've got some questions about the tickets. If anyone can help me out before they go on sale tomorrow, I'd really appreciate it.

Basically, a few of my friends and family are planning on going to show with me, and while everyone's looking forward to seeing the band, I don't want to see my mom surfing around the pit. Going by the Bob Seger chart at the link above (I'm sure there's no difference), which section(s) would be best for getting close to the action but not so close that it becomes a nuisance?

I've reserved a private executive suite and have a few extra Tix. Right now it's just me and my pregnant wife and some friends from work. If anyone is looking for a more exclusive view of the show without having to deal with the crowds please send me a PM. Thanks! peace

The Seger chart makes sense, as it's end stage.

I've been to quite a few concerts at Conseco, and there aren't a lot of "bad" seats.  I saw AC/DC from 200 level (sec 209 seems about right) and it was fine.  I saw Seger from sec 11, which was good (not close, but straight on), Bon Jovi from 111 (low rows in a balcony are always good seats).  The only seat I'd complain about was Elton John from section 14, because you're not all that close and you're also not facing the stage.

If you want to be close, I'd choose floor, 4/5/16/17.  If you want a great view but not so close, then the 100 level (low balcony) works beautifully.

Thanks. That helped a lot.

UPDATE: Bought a few for Section 16. For what I'm looking for, I think that was the right choice. Thanks again.
