Is as much an Axl song as it is Slash's... On the Making of Estranged he says that Estranged and Coma were the heavieast song he's ever written. At least til that point. Idk how he feels now...
And of course i would love Coma. But, I remember me asking for just one "new" song(old or new) so now that its happened im not gonna be expecting/demanding another one. At least til Next year  hihi
Im fine with the current setlist that includes Estranged.  Btw, Coma is the greatest song ever...

I think there is so much great material off of the "Illusions" that gets looked over for these 2 songs.  The thing is both of those songs were very popular radio hits for the band, so a generic rock crowd would much rather hear those songs instead of "Breakdown" or "Locomotive."

I don't see it happen but you never know. Yeah Breakdown would be cool live. If I had to pick two songs from Illusions I and II to be played live. I would go with

Back Off Bitch
Don't Damn Me (Never played live)  Sad
Shotgun Blues (never played live)
Breakdown

I'm happy with whatever songs them play. It's just great we have a chance to see them this year on tour.  ok

We need to start a "Coma" campaign like we did Estranged

Nonsense he wouldn't play it cause its a Slash song.. Hell SCOM intro is all Slash and one of the most famous guitar riffs of all time and they still play it every night.

Hey folks, I'm new here but I think i agree with most fans choosing Breakdown or coma.  That said, Get in the Ring with entirely updated lyrics as a one time shout down to the current detractors out there would be pretty awesome as well.  There's have to be something for all those folks that have only negative things to say about Axl but are at loss to explain just why in the hell they run to read every effin' article written about the guy.  Maybe something about Cobain not being man enough to handle his smack(hey, it's been long enough) and an ass-stomping to all those pathetic bloggers that can't seem to get their facts/dates/hairstyles/weights correct.  But in the meantime Coma and Breakdown should suffice.

I don't see it happening.  Even back in the day, the band played Estranged a lot more than Coma.  They aren't just gonna learn the whole song to play it once or twice, let alone ever play it regularly.   I'd rather hear TWAT at this this point or Catcher.

If I remember correct, the music to Coma was written by Slash and the Lyrics by Axl, so its kinda fifty-fifty. However, I don't think that song will make it to the setlist as a regular, since it wan't played that often even back in  the UYI tour. Dead Horse would be cool, however at this point I'd be more interested in hearing new stuff, unreleased stuff from the forthcoming successor to CD.

I think Prostitute is the song most symbolic of CD.  Consider how many people have said CD is an excellent album that must be given a chance.  AFD was the kind of album where you just knew, CD just grows and grows on anybody willing to take the time.  When it was released Prostitute was the ultimate WTF song so far as fans were concerned, myself included.  I must have listened to the album 30 times and Prostitute was always that song playing in the background when i wasn't paying attn.  Then one day I found myself singing it at work.  My point, and relevant to this thread.  I think if GNR played Prostittute live those casual fans in attendance would suffer a major WTF moment.   BTW, Rhiad rocks live.

I would love to hear it live as well, but i must agree with some of you guys saying you want to hear new unreleased songs, but i love the fact that Axl isnt against the whole idea of trying out some older songs he hasnt played with these guys yet

Well, at least no one can even begin to try to say that this band wouldn't be skilled enough to perform it. Especially after ripping Estranged a new arse, and performing it better than the 91-93 band ever did.

As long as we have Ron, GN'R have the possiblilty to perform any song I feel.  Smiley

Exactly, I'm 100% positive Estranged was brought back because of customer feedback. All those banners were so cool and promptly noticed peace

It could happen but I wouldn't count on it.  I'd rather have Civil War make the setlist, not that there's anything wrong with the current.

To me Coma is top-10 songs from GN'R and it'll always be there with Estranged and Civil War for example. If they play Coma (or Civil War) someday live, i'll be veeeery happily surprised and blown away. This lineup would totally kick ass with Coma, i'm 100% sure about that  ok

I think we'll see a Civil War again someday. Coma maybe, but it has always been rare. I would also like to see Locomotive or Breakdown one day. I think this lineup would kill Locomotive  ok

Estranged this tour has been an absolute gift to the fans & I don't mind saying that Ron has nailed the groove and feel of the song. That being said, I would still doubt that they would play Coma any time soon.

What would be pretty cool though, would be for one of the players to change up their solo spots a bit, and include a portion Coma in there for a bit, to test the waters. Perhaps, losing Ron's Pink Panther  confused routine ... or have the band do a semi-kind of jam at some point leading into one of the consistently played tunes

Btw...Civil War needs to make an appearance again as well yes
