Here's a very rough translation of an interview DJ recently did, the original at the link below.  If someone can offer a better translation, please do.

Interview with DJ Ashba!

Posted 22 hours ago

On Sept. 30, two days before Rock in Rio, Dj Ashba granted an interview with Criss Sexx, where he talks about his entry into the Guns N 'Roses', new songs and your future.

Check out the interview below:

Criss: This is DJ Ashba Guns N 'Roses. Please tell us about early in his career.

DJ: Well, you know, I got more or less twenty years ago, when I moved to Los Angeles and did an instrumental album called "Addiction To The Friction", James Kottak Jerry Dixon and some other friends. Then then I started a band called Beautiful Creatures, we were contracted by Warner Brothers, we were part of Ozzfest, we did a lot of things, did a tour with Kiss, and then ended up in Sixx AM with Nikki Sixx and James Michael ... Oh, I'm jumping a lot (laughs), and our last album was number one with "Life Is Beautiful" and the album debuted at Rock Hard disk number one in the United States, and "Lies Of The Beautiful People" became number one, and now "This Is Gonna Hurt" is still on the chart, then we have two songs in the Top 20 this time around. Oh, and when I went to the Guns N 'Roses ...

Criss: You can talk about it, its entry into the Guns N 'Roses?

DJ: Yeah, they were auditioning guitar players, so they had in mind, I think, more than 100 150 people. Then I received a call from any of the business, and one wondered if I could come and play guitar with Guns, and I said of course he would. And Axl said that if I actually showed up, he called for the business, saying "DJ is just showing up in the test, he has the job." So it was so nice, simple, I think it was just something that had to happen.

Criss: You have a favorite song to play live?

DJ: No, because you know, I have so many ... I wrote a new solo called "Ballad Of Death" in the last tour we did, I wrote a new one for this tour called "Me And More", then it is one of my favorites. I kind of wrote it on my guitar, which was the only girl in my life that I never screwed ... (Laughs)

Criss: What can you say about the members of Guns N 'Roses?

DJ: Axl not only met some of the coolest and most talented musicians. I mean, he can play with anyone, but it really brought together an amazing band. I mean, everyone knows what this band has to make sure, I mean, you know, so it's good, is very fun to play with people who can play anything, anytime, any day. It really is unbelievable the talent this band has.

Criss: And how is play along with Guns N 'Roses and Nikki Sixx M?tley Cr?e?

DJ: It's good, you know? I have this side project called Sixx AM with Nikki Sixx and, you know, Motley Crue is Nikki, I do Guns N 'Roses, this is our main focus. And when we're together, we do Sixx AM for fun, is a project of love, you know? We do not really consider anyone else the band, I mean, not only we have a drummer. James and I programmed all the drums for the album and, you know, I write much of the orchestral part. We're just three good friends, three producers, three composers, and we actually got together and had a great time doing a disk Sixx AM

Criss: Legal ... and new material from Guns N 'Roses?

DJ: Oh, yeah, you know ... I'm working hard on material so yes, we have very good things being made ready. Axl has too much material is left of "Chinese" (Democracy, the last studio album band), which is really good, which we are working and reworking and I'm writing new things every day.

Criss: What about the future?

DJ: Well, this is my big focus, you know ... I mean, I want my big goal is to launch the biggest record of the Guns N' Roses of all times. This is my main goal in this band, and I know we can do that. I'm excited about being in a band with Axl and all the other guys. Working with Axl, who knows many people who produce all the time, M?tley Cr?e, just choose the name. Axl and I just really understand each other musically. I sit down and once he starts playing something on the piano, it's like I knew exactly what to do.

Criss: Say, how would you define DJ Ashba?

DJ: I do not know! I would probably say a lucky guy, you know? Music is one of the many, many things I love doing. I have a clothing line called Ashba Swag www.ashbaswag.com visit, which is a work of amor.? where I think the artistic side of my brain is combined with the musical side of my brain. It's an opportunity I have to produce. I love producing, I love making "scoring", I love being in Guns N 'Roses, Sixx AM I love, love to make my clothing line, and I'm a graphic design agency, and am working on a big project that no one really knows Concerning yet ... I wrote and created a musical excited, so I'm working with companies very, very large in Los Angeles, and major film studios as well, giving life to my animation ... I will also be doing the "score" of the film.

Criss: That's pretty cool! And how is playing at Rock In Rio for the first time?

DJ: I know after playing! (Laughs). No, I'm excited about that, I mean, it's a dream come true for anyone, you know? Being in Guns N 'Roses is, is ... you have to pinch yourself to believe sometimes, you know?
I'm lucky I'm lucky. It is excellent, I must say. I have no luck actually, because I worked hard for it, but definitely great to be part of it.

Criss: Some palaver late for anyone reading this interview?

DJ: Yeah, I mean, I just want to thank everyone. I mean, my fan base is just incredible, I know that I could not do all that and would not be here if not for all of you very much, thank you for visiting my facebook all day, for posting things and send e-mail, and oh, by staying on the outside of the hotel, for all the gifts you bring fans, and for all the love and support. I am addicted to my fans, because they are the best drug I've ever been addicted. So it's really cool, you know?

Criss: OK, thank you, DJ!

that sounds very good..
that they are working and reworking left overs and working on some new songs....

I would buy any disc this band brings out!

this is a band with very great potential and they should bring every energy and sweat to the table and make a monster of a record and with these players that should be pretty easy!

Just bad translation... It's actually called "Mi Amor", Dj has said it a lot of times thru FB and twitter.

That's what I want to hear.
I have to admit, when he first joined the band, I didn't know what to make of DJ.
Then, when I heard his playing style, and his great fucking solos, I'm convinced he's perfect for Guns.
I can't fucking wait to hear new tunes from these guys!   beer

Axl doesn't seem like a guy to me who completes songs during a day off on tour.  I would imagine this will take a LONG time to get another record out.  After this tour, I can possibly see Axl putting vocals down, bet even with that said, that could take a very long time knowing his history.  Just my thoughts...

If by 'biggest' he means most grand, I dont think he'll have any problems because Axl loves fucking around with things forever. And sorry but I'm not waiting another 15 years for one of those. The songs are great but they're cloudy and buried in too many ideas.

If by 'biggest' he means most popular, he's probably wrong - the record industry is dead and MTV doesnt play videos anymore.  It seems today's internet-age and all our technological emphases have actually hurt creativity, and posed a serious challenge to Rock n roll and art in general.  But, if there's one band able to bring Rnr into today, it's Gnr.

No offense to DJ Ashba (who at first I thought was an Arabic disc jockey), but he seems like another one of these guys who has his hands in so many different projects, he's more like a commodity or an 'entertainer' than a guy capable of an AFD.  Axl, on the other hand, IS GNR - and that is all; he's more like the anti-commodity. You'll never see an Axl Rose energy drink or clothing line.  Dudes today cant put down their mobile phone for 5 minutes.  Do you think Jimmy Page could've done Physical Graffiti if he's thinking "Ok, clothing-line business meeting at 1pm...Pink Floyd band practice at 3pm...Gym for 6-pack at 7pm...Movie premier at 10..."  I really am excited though for the future of Gnr.  I see tons of potential with this band - they sound awesome in 2011 ('cept Rio).  Axl, dont forget that often 'Less is More.'

I get what you're saying, but you should probably learn what band Jimmy Page was in before posting analogies like that. Wink

No no no, I was saying that I dont like Ashba being in different projects - I cant imagine Zep writing Physical Graffiti if Jimmy Page was off working with Pink Floyd, for example
