For a second I thought Raymond the Amish Comic was opening for GnR. That would be kind of cool actually.

I'll be there 100%!

Let's rock and roll, boys and girls.  peace

There's plenty of restaurants and bars on the same road that the arena is on (Highland Park Boulevard) - plenty of options for a pre-party meet up.

There's a TGI Fridays right down the road - I usually hit that up before shows up in Wilkes Barre. Just an idea but like you said, there's a bunch!

Yep, Friday's, Lucky's Sportshouse, and the Arena Bar & Grill are all solid choices.

Too bad that Bennigan's closed down..loved that place. The hibachi joint that took its place is pretty cool, though.

Just got this on Facebook from the arena (they also created an event page)...

Guns N' Roses coming to Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre

Guns N' Roses have announced they'll be doing their first US tour in 5 years, kicking off October 28th in Orlando, Florida. The band will perform more than 30 concerts in the U.S. - fueled by Monster Energy - from October to New Year's Eve. Before hitting the states, GNR will tour Latin America, starting with a sold out, headline slot for the closing day of the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on October 2nd, for 75,000 fans.

Reserved and General Admission Tickets for the Sunday, November 20th Show at Mohegan Sun Arena go on sale Saturday, October 1st at 10:00AM at the Pennstar Box Office at Mohegan Sun Arena, online at ticketmaster.com, charge by phone (800) 745-3000 and all Ticketmaster locations.

Guns N' Roses are Axl Rose, DJ Ashba (guitar), Dizzy Reed (keyboards), Tommy Stinson (bass), Richard Fortus (guitar), Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (guitar), Chris Pitman (keyboards) and Frank Ferrer (drums).
GNR spent most of 2010 touring the globe, performing 71 two and a half hour shows in over 30 countries.

Since they last played the U.S. in 2006, GN'R has played to rave reviews everywhere including South America, Canada, Europe and Southeast Asia, playing close to one million fans worldwide.

Axl Rose started Guns N' Roses over 25 years ago. Since that time, they have become one of the biggest bands in music history, selling over 100 million albums worldwide. GNR's "Appetite For Destruction" has sold over 28 million albums in the United States alone.

The band's most recent release, Chinese Democracy debuted #1 on the charts in thirteen countries.
Chinese Democracy was released on Black Frog/Geffen Records in November 2008 and reached 3 times Platinum in Canada, Platinum in Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, UK, Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa. The album is Gold in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Holland, Sweden, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Brazil and Colombia. In the U.S., the album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 3, 2009.

My only concern is if I get GA, I'm going to get there as early as possible to ensure a spot down front. May make a pre-show a little difficult on my end, but I'd definitely love to meet up and hang out.

probably going to this show. trying to figure out between this one and hartford.

i was hoping to hit both hartford and WB, but might be tough for me to pull that one off. my wife is pretty cool, but being away an entire weekend right before the holidays might be pushing it a little. especially when the following saturday after Thanksgiving will be entirely dedicated to GnR as well.  hihi

if i'm only hitting one, WB just makes more sense because of the shorter drive (2 hours vs 3.5 to Hartford). although i will miss the Eagles-Giants Sunday night game, but F it. i've been waiting years for Gnr and can watch the eagles look like shit any sunday.  hihi

so i'd be up for meeting anyone that will be hanging out before the show. tailgating sounds good. just checked and there's a Hilton Garden Inn right next to the stadium which is freakin sweet! no driving necessary!  beer

Yeah you are right the area near the arena does have a lot to chose from. I never been to this arena and funny thing is I grow up about 30 mins away. I had tickets for the show in 02 but then it got moved to the 2nd Philly show.

I just noticed they are having a presale also on Thursday 10:00a.m.  nervous Anyone know what this presale is with?

Here's an idea...

All of us forum members should look out for each other if you're doing GA. Whether it's holding spots in line outside the venue, or holding spots on the guardrail down front.

We gotta make it happen.  yes

How do you think this show will sell??  This is PA, and the people of PA haven't had a good history with GNR.  I've already read multiple reports about previous chaos.

I think it will sell well. I know other bands in the past like AC/DC, Kid Rock, and others did well if not sold out.

I think it'll do well.

GN'R hasn't played in Wilkes-Barre since 1988. Major plus.

Shows in '91 and '02 were both canceled.

That being said, a lot of people in this area haven't been willing to give Axl a fair chance.

I'll be there - in the end, that's all that matters.  Wink
