how is this place for a concert?

its good, its just a standard arena, seats around 19,000.

I wouldn't know about the acoustics cause this show is the first concert im seeing there but my friend who saw the foo fighters last week said the acoustics were amazing

Horrible arena to watch a sporting event and I would assume concert too since its so spacious. Shouldn't be as bad as an outdoor show though.

Horrible arena to watch a sporting event and I would assume concert too since its so spacious. Shouldn't be as bad as an outdoor show though.

IVe been seeing shows at this arena since the 80s, every one from floyd -GNR< and others, Ive never had a bad experience soundwise, oh no wait, I saw Boston there , that was the worst sounding show I ever heard for any concert, and I like Boston, but their sound people musta really had know idea what they were doing.

yeah ive been going to shows forever here, they always sound good.  I think because it is pretty spacious on the top , with the high ceiling people think that the accoustics dont sound great.  But I never noticed.

The acoustics are horrible at this arena but that is just my opinion.  They are way better at MSG.  Oh well, just happy to be seeing a show again!!!  Section 125 for us, I am all GA-ed out after 2006 and this lady now needs a seat!

Only thing I could possibly think of is since this show is Thurs, I could see them doin a surprise show at a club in Manhattan on Friday night before hitting Hartford on sat!

Y'know what's gonna be awesome? Guns n' Roses rocking at the Izod Center!! Y'know what's not gonna be awesome?  Getting your car-less New Yorker ass to Izod for the show.  That's where Rocks Off comes in!

 

We are running an air-conditioned, bathroom-equipped, sound system & TV-rockin party bus from NYC to and from the shows, so you don't need to worry about finding a ride, staying sober, dealing with the scumbags on public transportation (or the crowded-ass, un-airconditioned, non-bathroom equipped or sound system & flatscreen-rockin shuttle buses back to the NJT station after the show), or even learning where the hell "Holmdel, New Jersey" actually is (once we're outside of the five boroughs, we can't tell a Holmdel from an Albuquerque from an Osh Kosh, but thankfully we've got professional drivers who can).  Really, all you've gotta do is buy a ticket, show up, stumble into and out of the venue, and we'll take care of the rest - don't that sound like it's worth a little money spent on your peace of mind?  (And - we can't stress this part enough - not having to draw straws to see which one of your friends has to stay sober at the heaviest metal show of the fall)

 

The bus will run to and from in front of the Hammerstein Ballroom 34th Street and 8th Avenue.  Boarding begins at 5:45pm, and the bus will leave at 6:00pm PROMPTLY - we know you guys tend to be late to everything, but, really, you're gonna be super bummed out if you pay for a ticket and then miss the bus (and we're not going to refund you), so please take us at our word on this one.  Refreshments are not served on the bus, but we encourage you to bring your own.   The bus will leave Izod half an hour after the show ends - once again, we are serious, and you will be even more bummed out if you pay for a ticket and then get stranded in New Jersey after the show, so please proceed as efficiently as you can towards the bus after the show.  The plus side is, you will find yourself back in NYC afterwards in plenty of time to get a decent night's sleep (or to just keep raging with all the awesome people you met on the bus).
We expect this to sell out quickly, so, don't hesitate - you really, really don't want to take New Jersey Transit.  (Trust us - we've done it, and it sucks)

The ticket price is for the roundtrip bus transportation ONLY. It does NOT include concert tickets (and no, we don't have any you can buy).

If I lived in NYC, I'd do that in a heartbeat!  Very cool.
 

There's also a party bus that will take you from NYC to the Camden, NJ show.  THAT would be one hell of a ride!

I already had tickets in section 124 for this show, but was just messing around on Ticketmaster.com and tickets is section 109 came up. So I got them and put my other ones up on StubHub.

I wanted to be closer to the stage and was a little disappointed to get section 124 on the presale day, but now I am super excited to be going to this concert !
