the AU interview: Sebastian BachSeptember 15, 2011
So are you the type of artist that when your extensively touring you will try to rest your voice between shows or the constant use of it helps?Sebastian Bach: No, no, on tour I'm singing all the time. I'm very lucky that I sing properly and the more I sing the better it gets. When I was doing Broadway and doing eight shows a week, typically my voice would be the strongest at the eighth show, at the last one. I don't strain it but the more I sing properly with proper placement with my palette and my mouth and all that, the more I do it it just gets louder and louder and louder *laughs*
*laughs* That's great.Yeah. But I don't push it, I don't yell. It's more of a tone that cuts through, that develops when you keep singing, its more rather the tone of the voice, just how bright it is. We're getting really into vocals now. I don't know whether your readers wanna hear about all that.
No, no go ahead. That's the style called 'Bel Canto', if your readers want, they can Google that, get someone to teach them that style. But I also sing other things. I also sing like along to Journey and Judas Priest.
I can remember I told Axl [Rose], I go: ?Dude, sometimes I have to sing along to Journey to get my voice going up in that high-mid range, tenor?. He goes [in a spot-on Axl impersonation]: ?Baz, if I had to sing to Journey records to get my voice going I'd quit the fucking music business? *laughs* But I was like: ?O well!?.http://www.theaureview.com/interviews/sebastian-bach-new-jersey-usa
