What arena is in Camden, NJ ? Hopefully we get the dates soon ! Very exciting !!

It is the Susquehanna Bank Center.  I was just there for Motley Crue.  It's fine once you get into the venue but you have to drive through Camden which is just about the murder capital of the US to get to the place.

I've been to some shows there, mostly festival type stuff during the summer when the lawn seating is open. Driving thru Camden does suck -- a guy from work saw Tool there a few years ago and told me about the ferry that leaves from Penn's Landing (Philly) and takes you to where the venue is in Camden. I've done that a few times. It's a pretty nice boat ride and the parking at the lot on the Philly side is a hell of a lot easier to get in and out of than Camden. Only thing is, the ferry only runs to a certain time i think, but they usually run as long as people are waiting to leave from a show. (it would REALLY suck walking back thru Camden!)

When GNR is playing, it would make me nervous because they usually play late since it is almost a given they will start late.  If you drive make sure you have GPS--my friends got lost leaving the venue and wound up terribly lost in Camden!  I will definitely be hitting at least the East Rutherford show.  Back in the day I would have done every show in the tri state but since I am now the Mom of a 2 year old I have to make sure he can eat first!

Well, it's a great time to be a GN'R fan, the European tour was absolutely amazing and I'm guessing the band will be great again in the US...

Go to as many gigs as you can, you won't believe your eyes and ears... They're THAT good...

Just hoping they'll be back in Europe soon, we need to get them back to Greece!!!

Looking forward to seeing you again....this will be my 11th show, I have a ways to catch up!  Maybe we can arrange something better than the frigid parking lot this time, haha.  I am so excited!

those are very good points about camden - arguably the country's most dangerous city. definitely look into the route you need to take to head home afterwards. the signs are awful - i've gotten lost a few times, even when i just try to follow the flow of traffic.

the ferry is great, but it does not run all year so i don't believe that will be an option in November.

i used to hate this venue, but its grown on me a bit over the years. the sound is good if you are in the 100 level, which i expect everyone on here will be (or in the pit). once you get into the middle or back of the 200 level, you really start to feel far from the stage and the sound is somewhat worse IMO.

i'm just so psyched they are playing close to home!  beer

i'm hoping to hit 3 shows. depending on the dates i'll also hit 1or 2 of the WB, NJ, Hartford shows. can't freaking wait!!! Smiley

I want to go to Camden to see AXL. I have not seen him since hershey pa back in 91, 20 years ago. My friend saw them in Baltimore in 2006,he said there was only maybe a thousand people there and the guitars were terrible.

Based on this part alone, we know it's altogether incorrect.

To be fair only 5,257 tickets were sold and the arena holds 14,000 so it probably did look pretty empty in there (you gotta remember not every ticket sold puts an ass in the seat since ticket agencies don't usually sell all their tickets).  1,000 is an underestimate but it was probably well under 5,000.

In fact looking at the whole 2006 tour Gn'R only sold out 4 of the 20 arenas they played in America, and only 2 of those 4 had an attendence over 10,000.  Gn'R just isn't a huge draw in America anymore.  Hopefully this time around they are sticking to amphitheaters and smaller arenas so the arenas don't look 33% full.

Looks like the NJ gig is confirmed now for the 17th...I've been checking the Izod website the last few days non-stop and it's finally up! I know this is REAL picky, but I wish it wasn't the same night as the JETS Thursday night NFL game....there are no bars around here...if it was in NYC it woudn't have been a big deal. Oh well.

i was at that show. it was not sold out, but i would estimate about 6,000 people. and the sound was incredible. it was an awesome show. i had three friends there that were sceptical of the band pulling off a great show, but they were totally won over that night. My buddy still talks about that show to this day. He just kept saying how shocked he was that Axl was still pulling off maybe the best live show out there (and this guy goes to alot of concerts). He really thought they had tracks playing to help with certain parts, that's how good they sounded.

Will definitely be at Wilkes-Barre.....wouldn't touch Camden with a 10 foot pole....I was there two years ago for Pearl Jam.  There were people out in the parking lot robbing cars while the concert was going on.  It truly is smack dab in the middle of the ghetto (The ampitheater).  Very scary place.

i've seen many shows at camden, multiple ozzfests, mayhem, weezer, most recently incubus.

it's really not as bad as you guys are making it out to be, it's a 5 minute drive tops thru camden, it's hard to get lost because you can pretty much always see the bridge and that's all you have to go to get back in philadelphia, and it's not even close to being in the middle of the ghetto, it's on the outskirts of the city so much that most people consider the amphitheater to be in philadelphia.. you can see philly from the lawn and you can see the amphitheater from philly.

if you've never been there don't be derailed from going there, it's a nice venue and while it is in a shitty area it's not any worse than say the electric factory, the tla or the troc.
