Matt Sorum was interviewed by Rock Forever TV when he was recently in Brasil.

He says there were a couple of guys he liked for Velvet Revolver -- Corey Taylor, but Slash didn't like him/he wasn't feeling it, and he also liked Franky Perez.  But he says it's not his decision.

Matt used to say that it was a group decision and everyone had to agree.  But now he's moved on to -- it's not his decision.

I think he's implying it's not "solely" his decsion.

I took it to mean he doesn't have a say anymore.  He said in that other interview that he was taking himself out of the decision making process.  It looks like he's resigned himself to the fact that it's Slash's decision.

I think they should all resign themselves to the fact Slash has zero interest in anything VR related at this point.

Are you saying that after Snakepit didn't go anywhere, he used VR to relaunch his own brand and now that he's doing ok, he's ready to forget VR until Scott comes back for the "reunion" tour?

I don't think you need me to perpetuate that notion, you did it just fine on your own. Wink

Clearly myles is who Slash wants to play with and who he wants to be the singer

so since Myles won't join VR... .really whats the difference in VR and singing on Slash's solo albums?

This way, Slash gets his singer and keeps 100 percent creative control whilst having a guy who can sing everything.

I was really surprised how irritated he became when he was asked about Velvet Revolver in press conferences for the solo tour.

Corey Taylor joinng Velvet Revolver would have gotten Slash more attention than a second solo album with Myles Kennedy handling all vocals. It's amazing how since Slash left GNR he does nothing right in many eyes. Good God.

so we know now that Matt and Duff would've been cool with Corey joining... too bad Slash "didn't feel it". Corey is one of the few who might have actually pulled off replacing Weiland and maybe even made the band more succesful.

can't really see VR bouncing back from this, i'd guess it's over for them now.

Without question.

Some deserved, some not.

Big difference. Duff McKagan! Slash's a decent songwriter. But hundred times better along with Duff. That's because Duff's a Great songwriter.

Consider this: maybe Slash is reluctant to get a singer that has been in such a big name band like Corey. That way he can't go "Ok everyone, back to my old band" at the first sign of trouble a la Mr. Weiland.
