I'll make a press trip to Boston by Sept. 19th to 23th so I would like to know some tips about good places to go (although I won't have much time to spent).

I still don't know which hotel I will stay at, but one thing I really care about is to visit this Apple Store (here in Brazil we don't have any):

Yeah, I'm a geek.

You a baseball fan?
The Sox are in town vs the Orioles, you could probably pick up a reasonable ticket and see Fenway Park.
There's a ton of good concert venues. I know Primus is playing Boston on the 23rd.
The apple store is right next to Copley square, a popular skate spot.
Lot of beautiful women around that neck of the woods because of all the nearby colleges.

Not a baseball fan at all, but thanks.

Primus would be a blast, but I couldn't make it, I would need to be at the airport by 23rd at night.

And I'm married, so I'll need to just look at the beautiful women, ha.

Thanks for the help

I'm not from Boston, but was there on vacation last year.

I would go back in a minute if I had the cash.

I wasn't into the baseball either, more of a motorsports fan myself, but you can't help but get caught up in it all. its everywhere.

I really liked Landsdown (up by Fenway park) 'Game on' and the other pubs/bars on that strip were superb.
Cheers was essential, although expensive, sitting at the bar just made me feel great.
Highly reccomend the Duck Tours, was a lot of fun (even with a hangover)
The main tourist shopping area was (excuse me if this is wrong) Fennalhall, about 2 hundred yards up the road there are plenty of bars, cafes, etc.
I was taken to the Italian district (apparently) for cakes and ice cream, and it was great also.
I got the boat/water taxi to the USS Consitution dock and went to a bar called 'Tavern on the water' Man, If I could go back there tomorrow, it was awesome

The thing about it was, everyone (apart from 1 taxi driver) was very freindly, maybe it was the Scottish accent but I had a blast.

Good luck and I hope to be back september 2013.

Yeah I don't think you have to be a fan to appreciate Fenway Park.
My girlfriend is not a sports fan by any stretch, but I brought her to a Sox/Yanks game, and she couldn't wait to go back.
The novelty eventually wore off, but she was watching games with me for a good year or so afterwards, haha.

Faneuil Hall used to be a great skate spot, in a lot of skateboard videos. I used to go there all the time when I was in art school.
Haven't been there since they remodeled it.

Thanks guys, good tips. Saddly, I had to abort the press trip because of schedule reasons. I'm pretty bummed about it right now, actually. But Boston is often the place for those kind of IT events I need to cover, so I'm sure I'll have another opportunity soon enough. Smiley
