East Coast/VA Earthquake (8/23/2011)

I felt it up here in Northwestern Connecticut.

Pretty darn disconcerting!

I felt it in NJ.  My boss felt it in Boston.  Apparently it was felt all the way up to Toronto.

Yeah I felt it too.  5 seconds of horror.  I called home to make sure everyone was OK and my wife had no idea it even happened.

I live in Virginia about 50 miles from the epicenter. Felt it pretty good here.

I assumed all my sinning had finally brought down the thunder and the Reaper was coming through my wall with his sickle. So I stayed pretty rational through it.  All jokes aside, glad to hear there's no one hurt or significant damage so far.

I work outside of DC and felt it strong. I know its not like the ones in the west but its not like we are used to it.

I was talking to a guy who spends about 1/2 the year in California.

He said that was akin to your cell phone vibrating out there.  They wouldn't have even noticed it.

Super cereal, bruh.  It's like, pilferk even put the date in the thread title.  It's one of those "Never Forget" moments for them.

Man, I'll never forgot the day the water in my waterglass starting shaking.  I became a completely new person after going through that horror.

Doesn't look as bad as predicted with the wind but water can do a lot of damage.  The Weather Channel has their best guy sitting in NY, nice guy but if you see him run! 

Imagine the subways flooding, how long would that take to fix?  Love their governor of NY, sounds just like Rocky.

I hate the way politicians unnecessarily scare people for their own gain.

I don't know if you can blame the politicians or anybody for that matter.  There's a time where you look at it and have to make your decision.  Taking into account every bodies safety is the best way to go.  They were looking at millions of people.

I love how they said if you stay behind you're on your own.  We're not risking other people's lives because of your choice.  There's a time to be an individual and there's a time to be a part of the crowd.  AND THERE'S A TIME TO GET YOUR KID OUT, stupid fuckers.

Just to clarify:

I put the date in the title NOT because the event was monumental (it was weird....our ground don't shake)...but because I can see us having another one....say, next year....and didn't want the thread "resurrected" (as I so often see happen).
