Comedian Mike Myers is stepping back in time to reprise his role as 1960s spy Austin Powers for another installment of the hit film franchise.

The funnyman first debuted the outlandish character in 1997?s Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, and went on to release two sequels - 1999?s The Spy Who Shagged Me and 2002?s Goldmember.

And now HitFix.com reports Myers will be back for a fourth spy spoof.

Details about the project have yet to be revealed, although Myers is expected to write, produce and star in the forthcoming film.

It is unclear whether director Jay Roach, who took charge of the first three movies, will return for the next sequel.

Cant wait, 1st 3 were hilarious

I'm excited, though after the disaster that was The Love Guru i'm a little skeptical. I just hope its good. And your right 1st 3 were pretty funny.   Cool

So.

after the father thing.... the Dr.Evil is my brother stuff.

can there be a good story to a fourth AP?

I dont think it'll be funny having scott being the bad guy.... it just would be so wrong...
He might actualy kill Austin in the first few seconds of the movie.... then what... Jerry Springer?

I absolutely loved Mike Myers growing up...and "So I Married an Axe Murderer" and Wayne's World...all that.  He really hasn't done much of anything other than Austin Powers and Shrek though.  The movie where he was like a flight steward with Christina Applegate (bit part in it) and The Luve Guru which was horrific.  Hell why not make Wayne's World 3 then!

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Mike Myer's career has whirlpooled, so it makes sense for him to do this.

It will probably be a disaster tho' and a film to avoid.

Loved the first three Austin Powers films, and never saw Love Guru due to all the bad reviews, but I'm hoping he can come up with the goods.

Will make him some $$, though I doubt he needs it

Goldmember had its moments, but he clearly should have stopped after 2 of those films

Lame, those films didn't age well at all.
