Silent in what way?

Rock In Rio was announced in March. And then we'd have news of other shows since then.

The band hasn't been out touring yet this year, but it's obviously not as silent as some might suggest.

Axl tweeted like two weeks ago...

/jarmo

that was the main point in this interview, Jarmo: "Poison who was available and the other two weren?t[...]"

MS and Poison touring right now, Axl camp turned that down for whatever reasons.
so silent in the way of not touring (when he stated this "take a break for a week or 3" stuff it turned out to be many months, i expected that though). and besides the Rio announcement and some small talking/twitter there isnt much activity for the fans until october: no release (date) of anything single, video etc., band members doing their own projects now + small other info we've got that they didnt even write "together in a room", no group pic etc.

co-headliner w/ Motley would have been great....I'm not the biggest fan but do like Shout at the Devil, Dr. Feelgood and St. Of LA....

satd was awesome yeah peace

In GNR & MC tour, you have one extremelly popular band Guns n Roses and one opening band MC...

Motley sells well globally actually, they arent' really that much less "80's" than gnr

I don't think it would have been that bad, imagine axl sing starry eyes Tongue

Never got into any of the other "L.A. bands".

I got into GN'R because they were different.

Motley's diferent too, in their way. Lotsa band "followed" Motley Crue to put it that way.

That they tour with Posion is lame as hell imo, wtf confused

Vince apparantly teached Axl some vocal-lessons and how to maintain ur voice after a night spent partying.

is no secret if Mick's health gets to the point he can't tour, DJ would be the Motley guitarist.

They would end Motley Crue and go solo I am pretty sure. yes

Unless...greedy

Poison...ok Poison is not even music.

it's just some entertaining passe-temps for people who grow up in a farm, very far than any civilised cities.

I excuse people of L.A, because at that time, everyone were high. they even voted for Reagan, remember.

Motley Crue has a different stature, due to the recognition they had back in the days, but come on, they're still clowns
who made music with farts and red noses.

one of the worst music scene EVER

There's plenty of activity for fans who are making plans to attend those October shows.

The band took a break after touring for a year.

I don't see the problem.

What world does Nikki Sixx live in? Poison has been around 20 years, and probably draws crowds not that far from what Motley draws-Nikki acts like they are still starting out playing in clubs-Poison if anything has never shied from the label of a "glam band"-people go to see Poison and Motley to hear greatest hits, to see Rock of Love Bret Michaels, and so on,

How much different would it be touring with Motley as opposed to Van Halen?

Well, VH are one of the all-time great rock bands. How many times has Slash's name been used in the same sentence as Eddie VH? Exactly.

You won't find Mick Mars' name next to Slash ever, however.

Motley Crue are derivative trash you couldn't even pay my little cousins to listen to.

Though I'm not a VH fan, VH is a very influential band that is actually respected by people.

You don't hear many contemporary bands, who are taken seriously, counting Motley Crue as an influence.

I would not have liked this to happen at all, GN'R are too big for Motley. I would rather see Guns use a surprise as an opener, maybe someone who is from a totally different genre, like Mix Master Mike.

Crue are just a boring rock/glam band who think they are better than they are, just my view. And Guns N' Roses are the opposite, a monster, who deserve all of the praise and triumph put their way.  Cool

What a sad little group of posters you all are.  I see this turned into nothing but a let's hate on the Crue thread. Self righteousness runs abounds here I guess because you listen to what you like and everything else sucks.

That happened in like 2006 (at least in Boston).  Or was that your point?

Edit: That was 2002!  OMG TIME FLIES!

I have to agree with this...   Especially if you are talking about Van Halen and not Van Hagar...

Everything in music is derivative of something else.. Motley came out when rock music was kind of dead so they are more forefathers of the LA scene and not some unauthentic trend chaser.

The difference is that Van Halen are a very well respected rock band, Motley Crue are not.  Van Halen has the greatest guitar player who has ever walked the earth(sorry Jimi, just my opinion).  Motley Crue is considered a joke by many people, and their behavior really does fuel a lot of that.   I like Motley Crue, but I don't really respect them as a band too much anymore, especially since they are very vocal about only tolerating each other for the money.
