Stinson plays for free

Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson, more recently a member of Guns N' Roses, is doing a free in-store show at 4 p.m. Sunday at Main Street Music (4444 Main) in Manayunk.

Stinson's new CD, "One Man Mutiny," was recorded in the area, including a song "It's a Drag," at musician/filmmaker George Manney's studio Geo Sound. Manney plays drums on the track. Stinson lives in the area with fiancee Emily Roberts. She sings on several tracks including the duet "Destroy Me."

A portion of proceeds from the CD sales will benefit schools in Haiti for which Stinson has raised thousands of dollars with an online memorabilia auction last year.

Hey everyone-went to the show last night at the Bowery. GREAT set of course by TS! Had to leave early since it was getting late and had to make the train home.  Cry

Bowery Electric downstairs is SMALLLL (if there were like 60-70 people in there?). And NOT well lit  rant, thus why I used a flash (dang red eye). Oh, look at me complaining-Shame on me!

Tommy and band were of course amazing. Really loose and jamming. From what I heard, it was a mix of everything-new, VGH (left after "Not A Moment Too Soon"), BNP (SMOKIN version of "Friday Night Is Killing Me"). Anyone else there-what did I miss?

And yes-he had OMM on sale last night, with some cool t-shirts too.

Didn't see any other GNR bandmates. There was Tommy going 'what do you want to hear'-someone sarcastically says "WTTJ". You should have seen the look Tommy gave-the SMIRK of the year.

I'll be at Maxwells and Bowery next week - coming from the northern woods of Minnesota for 'em. Caught him at First Ave back in May with Dave Pirner!

tommy_stinson: Irene wins. We had to cancel our show in Boston on Sunday. Huge bummer. We'll be back there early next year. Sorry.

tommy_stinson: Super bummed that we've had to postpone another show due to Irene's wrath. Sorry, Providence. See you early next year.

Ron's been doing pretty good with his live streams.  Maybe Tommy could do some kind of live stream release party?  I'd like to party with him.  I'm really looking forward to this.
