oh yeah they do a great job BUT my point is, they do those cause its the only GNR songs they can sing.

Slash wants someone that can pull off anything in the GNR catalog.

I think the shadow of the whole GNR catalog was the problem with VR to begin with. Why do they need to be able to do a bunch of GNR songs? Stand on your own.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

How so?

It's not like they did very many from Slash and Duff's catalog - what, "It's So Easy", "Brownstone" and "Used To Love Her".

Why do they need to be able to do a bunch of GNR songs? Stand on your own.

Not sure what constitutes a bunch although if I go see Slash in any band setting and he doesn't dip into his back catalog I'm probably leaving disappointed.

They were only doing 2 or 3 GNR songs when Scott was in the band.

I don't have a problem with Slash playing a few GNR tunes but someone earlier said he would want a singer who could do any GNR song. That might be asking a little much. How about a singer who can write some good tunes on their own instead of a good cover singer?

Again, I think that's exactly what Slash believes he's found in Kennedy.

Just my opinion.

I think Slash feels he has that person in Kennedy.

I agree.  From Slash:

SLASH Says Singer MYLES KENNEDY Is 'F**king Amazing' - Sep. 14, 2010

Regarding how Kennedy is doing as the the singer for Slash's touring band, the guitarist says, "Myles is (expletive) amazing. It's very surreal how he handles the stuff he sings. I'm doing GN'R songs I've never done solo before, and Myles manages to own them without changing the style or trajectory of the song. Which is a fantastic (expletive) ability."

I guess so. And we know that Myles was offered VR and turned it down?
