I just don't see stuff like this happening, that's why I get so fustrated by posts like this appearing every so often. Any material that Guns N' Roses is going to work on as a band, is most definitely going to be for any forthcoming album.  yes

I really don't see Axl getting the whole band together in a studio to record 1 song for a tribute album, whoever it's for.  Cool

(PS, If 'Street Of The Blues' wants to send me anymore PM's stating how much of a retard I am for having this opinion. Then I suggest he actually posts it in the thread, rather than being a pussy and doing it in private where he thinks no one can see it.)  rofl

I can, for Elton John or for Waters/Gilmour/Wright, Summer '68 would be a killer.

But for them doing tributes is the kind of thing I wouldn't bet my money on, possible but not very likely.

I still don't, and I'm standing by it.  Cheesy

With Chinese Democracy being mythical for being something long awaited for, the next possible GN'R release is going to have just as much attention. Axl sang 3 songs on Sebastians album, but that was just Axl and it wasn't a GN'R band effort, it was Axl helping out a very close friend.

And now, the current GN'R members have come accustomed to doing their own projects in any downtime Guns may have. And then you have GN'R doing live dates, which can span the best part of a year, like we saw during 2010.

So why is everyone finding it hard to understand my view, that Axl gathering all of GN'R in a studio, to record a song for a damn tribute album, is not going to happen.  Tongue

Any situation in which GN'R manages to all be in the studio. In my opinion, is most definitely going to be for recording parts for any potential upcoming GN'R release, and not some quickly put together song for a tribute record  ok

You do realize that they all don't have to record a song at the same time/ day/ week / month...right?

Ron can lay down his parts one day then another guy the next..ect.

Yes I do realise that all of the recording would not have to be done at the same time. But they would have to meet up as a group to at least talk about the arrangement and how they are going to approach the song. Some collective discussions would have to take place involving all of the band, so again this kind of thing takes alot of effort and time.  ok

And I still stand by my view of it not happening, based on Guns having a tour to organise, Rio to reherse for, and also another potential album to record and organise.

I think some fans live in a dream world, where they demand GN'R to do do this or that. Yes of course, it would be cool if Guns N' Roses did something like this, but I'm saying after following GN'R for all my life. I have to think logicaly and just come to the conclusion that this is probably not going to happen based on the heavy schedule GN'R has going on right now, not just in the public eye, but also behind the scenes.  Cheesy

The best we'd get is Axl doing his thing, a bit like The Kinks" legendary singer, Ray Davies and friends album, http://www.seemyfriends.co.uk/ where Springsteen, Metallica and a number of others paid homage to his songs. That I could see being done, but the whole band? Nah I'm with 1 in a Millions on this

And to be honest, I don't want them to. GN'R are too legendary to do covers for a tribute album, even for Paul.  yes
And yet GN'R has done so many covers just from their own albums lol I just love contradictions  hihi

Haha, you pretty funny.  rofl

It would be a contradiction if I said GN'R are too legendary to do covers, but I said GN'R are too legendary to do covers for a tribute album, which is for another artist.

You should read my sentence again, because what I said wasn't a contradiction in regards to GN'R doing covers for their own album.  ok

Or maybe, it's because your spam/posts are so contrived and annoying to read.

Adz, why do you feel the need to attack fellow posters who you obviously don't like.  Roll Eyes

I'm sure if your comments came from a fellow poster, they would be deleted immediately. But I guess because you are in a position of power, it's ok for you to state your opinions as facts. If you think my posts are spam, please direct me to them, I don't spam, I state my opinions, is that Ok with you, almighty one.  Tongue

I'm a proper fan of the band who has travelled all over the world to see GN'R, and I've met Ron a few times, as with Duff. I really don't care about your opinion about me, you obviously have a gripe with me.

I would rather you stop commenting on my posts in a negative way, as there's no need for it.  Cheesy

Okay super fan, I'm sorry you feel so persecuted and picked on.  We must all kneel to your evidently superior opinions and use of the bold function.

If it really does make you feel "Better", I will stop bolding my words...

And thank you for saying I'm a "super-fan", means alot from a mod, I'm finally somebody.  drool

I've been told by members of GN'R that they appreciate my support, like when I met Ron in Las Vegas. I really don't need a smart mod, talking down to me as if they are better than me.  Roll Eyes

Like you do to alot of people around here.  ok

FYI: When you use the bold letters in every single post, it kinda loses its meaning. You have to point out something important in every post?

So it goes from people paying attention to the bold words into becoming a gimmick that some might find annoying.

I think that was AdZ's point. He's not so eloquent. He's from England....  Grin

And yes, I'm sure the band appreciates all their real fans. Even if the fans don't travel abroad to see the band. Smiley

I know that GN'R appreciates all of their fans, but I get called a "superfan" and a "know all" by a mod for no reason other than bolding my posts, nice.  Roll Eyes

I get told I spam and all of my posts are annoying, by someone who only seems to post to correct people, like he rules the world or something. Since my time here I haven't seen Adz contribute to debates in a postive manner, he only seems interested in attacking people. Undecided

I post my honest opinions, and was told by a current member of GN'R via email, that I seem to be one of the people who understands whats going on. So I don't appreciate someone who everytime he replys to one of my posts, (or anyone for that matter), attacks me or insults me. I only say that because this is the 3rd or 4th time now, that Adz has purposely gone out of his way to "poke fun" at my comments.  Cheesy

It really isn't needed, especially from a mod..... but that's fine, I won't use the bold function anymore, won't want to upset Adz.  Roll Eyes

(BTW, I'm from England too.)  Shocked

Know all? Where?

He pointed out how your bold words can be annoying and you start posting about how big fan you are.

I don't know how the acknowledgements from band members relate to the bold words...

But... Anyways..

AdZ isn't the most subtle person.

He could've worded himself nicer.

He doesn't rule the world. He answers to me... Go figure.

Edit: Your post above is easier to read now. Moderation is the key when using colored text or other formatting.  ok

We must all kneel to your evidently superior opinions

Right here, I'm a "know all" apparently.  yes

I don't know why he felt the need to call me a superfan, and state that my opinions are superior to everyone elses.  hihi

I can't believe I'm explaining myself to a mod who obviously loves the "power". I'm not going to defend myself, because I might get called a "superior fan" again. I don't need the approval of Adz, or anyone else. I'm confident that I try my best to demonstrate fair opinions, and unbiased views in all areas of this board. I'm an active follower of the band, and have spent many nights in an airport waiting for a flight to see this band live.  ok

I know Adz is a huge fan like me, I actually saw him in Toronto in the Loose Moose, and at the show. But I would rather see him being more positive in his posts. Rather than popping up every week, attacking posters and quite frankly being rude.

That's all...  Cheesy

Even so, why does he feel the need to bump a thread that was a day old to state this "opinion".  Cheesy

A mod should know better than to say those things, they are not a nice thing to say to genuine fans.

I could say the same thing to you jarmo, that you think your opinions are superior to everyone elses. But I don't because it's not a nice thing to say, period.  Roll Eyes

I don't think my opinion is better, I just don't think I need to cater to those who have the opposite opinion about GN'R. Simple as that.
