I had no interest in a Phil Lynott-less Thin Lizzy until Richard joined. Turns out Richard joining was a good thing, because they were actually extremely impressive at Download yesterday. The guy they've got singing now does a pretty good job at those classic songs, and everyone in the band was on top form. I'd recommend seeing them if they're coming to a festival near you.
Shortly before their performance, I was lucky enough to meet Richard very briefly, and he was cool. Scott Gorham was a few yards behind us, but never got to speak to him.

Went to see Richard with Lizzy on Thurs in Swindon - he fits in perfectly, really cool to see him up there. He looked like he was having a blast.

Will upload some photos shortly if I can figure out how to work my phone...

GREG

Dude, I saw you there. You had the Canadian Chinese Democracy tour shirt!

You did indeed! I had to duck out after half the set for a train back to London which I was gutted about but they sounded great. Saw Jailbreak though which was good fun. You seeing them again this tour? I think they are playing Finsbury Park which is awesome as i used to live over the road from there.

Saying that, might save my money for Buenos Aires....

What a shame! I live in Swindon, so this was as good as it gets for me! I know the guy who was promoting the show and I was trying to get my band on for the local support slot, but it wasn't to be.

Richard just tweeted Thin Lizzy tour dates for the US starting 12 October. It doesn't mention anything about whether he'll be part of it (it says he's part of their line up now). The South American dates are the week before, so I suppose he will be.

I'd have to assume, since he tweeted it himself, that he will be a part of the tour.

Unless of course, GNR gets more dates planned for the fall.  But it looks like Richard is planning ahead as if he's got a clean slate to work with.

He will likely do gigs he can do and someone else will fill in when he is with Guns.  I very much doubt it would be the other way around

Irish band comes to the States twice in same year and no Boston date?
I'd like to catch these sons of bitches if they do. I would have caught them in CT last time, but they played same night as Imelda May Band and Jeff Beck.
Tough competition.
It's no Thin Lizzy, but would still love to see Gorham and Downey live.

All of this to honor Phil and keep the songs live on, I think that's pretty cool ;-)
I'm happy for Richard, looks like he is having a great time !

14 October Concrete Street Amphitheater, Corpus Christi, TX.
15 October The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Houston, TX.
16 October Allen Event Center, Dallas, TX.
18 October Ava Amphitheater, Tucson, AZ.
