Ron has lost alot of weight and looks amazing, and he plays the best of the 3 guitarists, everything he plays is spot on and accurate.

What more can you ask for?.  Tongue Tongue

just re-watch his Jungle solo!

Yeah I already have, and you can thank DJ for making Ron mess that up.  hihi

You try playing a guitar solo, with a startrooper helmet on... rofl rofl

Ron did really well considering.  Cool

I'll not say anything because I don't wanna be called a "hater", so, sorry if I'm not participating to the overwhelming excitment about the show.

Actually, as long as they tell the name of the band and post a video of the gig they can say anything.

Set was a bit long maybe, with a looot of soft songs.

Beside the misplaced (why the fuck he had to joke before he opened WTTJ? MAI GOSEBOMBS! Tongue ) usage of humor you can't contest the power of the perfomance we just saw. He is not full-on all the time and there was obvious issues with electronics malfunctioning due to rain, but listen to the end of it's so easy, how he opens wttj, kohd, nightrain...thats rock and a voice that blows most people away (altho we long-timers are rather hard to please hm Grin) and he looks more fit aswell.

It was really good, I can actually show this to the younger kids in my family...it was that stunning.

Aaaaaand! love the leatherjacket + the badboy rockstarstyle. Axl is it and defines it.

I can't understand why a little bit of criticism is so frowned upon. I'm a HUGE fan, I've travelled across the world for GN'R...But I know that Axl can balls it up from time to time. Last night's show reminded me of when I travelled to the first European gig in Norway last year..The band were great but Axl was all over the place, and arrived in the country on the day of the gig. 4 months later at the O2 in London it was a different story- Axl was leading the pack.

I'm sure if you catch GN'R further down the line of this leg of the tour, it'll be the same story...

Just one thing to consider.. People said the crowd wasn't into it. Well, System of a Down did a super long (and IMHO boring) set and people were standing in the rain waiting at 2 am. I'm sure they loved the gig, but they were tired too, so excuse them if they were not jumping all over the place after 15 hours of music.

I hope Axl's voclas loosen up throughout the tour, not his best performance. The band should tighten up too. Amazing to hear Estranged again, the guys did a really decent job of it. I love Guns N' Roses so much but this show didn't have that magic that there can be. There were amazing moments here and there but if everyone was honest with themselves we know its not a great performance overall. Its easy for me to be critical, I don't have to get up there and do it. But I'm a life long fan and I know how the band has sounded live throughout the years and this is just ok. I believe the band will all tighten up throughout the tour and I pray Axl's voice gets back on track.

If the crowd was lethargic (and I don't know since I wasn't there), the fact that is was 2:45 AM when the show STARTED might have something to do with it. I know it's different for a festival but still....

I think it was, have you listened to the other rockbands of today?

Not to mention the female, wigwearing, lipsyncing popstars...this was good, and he is 50!

It was not an ideal show to have been recorded and so widely publicised...The fact is for the general tkt buying public, if Axl looks to be 'having an off night' then the whole is New GN'R really GN'R argument becomes a hard one to win...

That's a good point. It doesn't help if Axl isn't on his game. Let's face facts, 98% of the ticket buying public on the US tour isn't exactly there to see Frank Ferrer and Ron Thal.

I haven't seen many people claim the crowd wasn't into it. For those doing so, they need to watch This I Love again.

If nothing else, Estranged was K I L L E R and we have the rest of the tour to look forward to.

Not their fault this time. There was a fucking waterfall on stage. SOAD ended at past GNR time, so how the fuck GNR/Axl was to blame?

Before that, by 1h40 local time, they were ready and had to wait because the rain got worse. It was a cut of almost 50 minutes from the set (there was a curfew at 5 am), so we could have got a way longer setlist.

Were you actually watching it in the audience at Rio or are you just another armchair critic?  Shows become "magic" when you're there in the audience experiencing it first-hand, not sat in front of a computer screen listening to a feed that can't come close to what you get live.

I personally think that he hurts his vocals during Live and Let Die when he screeches as long as he does, and it effects the rest of the performance. Don't get me wrong, I also think he still sings awesome, I just wonder if it could be like it used to be if they drop LALD.
