Just got back to the hotel from Rock in Rio.....

Really enjoyed the show tonight, havent had a chance to look around and see what people have been saying but let me just say it was really really really wet. I blame System....it started during their set. The wait was long but necessary for it to be a safe show. The crew did some good work there.

Axl was in great spirits for the majority of the show. At the start he was pulling funny faces during Sorry and othertimes bantering with Tommy and Ron as well as thanking them for the Estranged rehersals! Was really loving the mood on stage despite the rain and cold....TIL was awesome as usual, obv Estranged (Ron and DJ nailed this), nice new solo from DJ....Better was another highlight. Yes Axl missed some lines in Nov Rain and then talked about needing his own patience tonight....I think he just really wanted to do it 100% tonight, but hey its the first show of the tour.

A very memorable night musically and personally - proposed to my girlfriend during the middle of the set (she said yes!)....so thank you to all the band and crew for making it on tonight when it could do easily have been a wash out. You made my day(s)!

ps just re-read this and it is just rambles. Sorry, still shaking with cold and emotional shock plus massive sleep deprivation as went yesterday at 10am to pick up tickets....will write a proper review when I recover....

Just back from the show, soaked and very cold!

The rain was torrential and the stage and audience were soaked yet the band put on a killer gig and the audience was crazy!  Anyone trying to judge it from youtube is a fool!

Just watched Estranged back as well, and fuckin hell, what was Ron on?, he's a monster. He sounded amazing and his guitar tone was EPIC, I must say that DJ's solo was cool as well. But the whole band on this track just nailed it, that's a big FU for all of the Nu GN'R hater's who said that they couldn't play this song.  rofl

In my view this performance of Estranged was better than most in 1991/92, the band did this song justice indeed.

Well done Guns N' Roses!!! drool

Plus anyone moaning about Axl?s voice from the feed, I can tell you, he killed it. Sounded great IMO - show was a blast and to confirm what Adz has just said, it was a HOT crowd. In fact, they were just a great crowd fullstop. They even looked after those people who who were being affected by the monsters during the System show....but that?s a different story.

The bands perfomance yes,Axl could sang it better, and im sure he will.

In the parts ive seen of the concert,Axl hasnt sing with the rasp that he used to sing in 2009/2010 tour. But its the first date of the tour, and its normal.

Can I ask these honest questions without people saying I'm a hater?  Can we have a legitimate conversation about this?
Schure!

1: It's rock'nroll. Axl is a rocker, not a diva. It is a it rough and improvised by it's very nature.
2: Age happens Tongue

Altho he sounds, dance and look amazing imo.

The setlist can be a little shorter with less soft songs (<3 estranged tho) and also Oh My God which is a very important song for fans and generic rockfans aswell. He can be more clever in song-choice/setlist and sentence-usage/improvisations so the occurance of 'mickey mouse'-voice gets minimized and the rock-audience/listeners don't get overexpored to his godlike screams and unique high-pitched singing.

Also the usage of humor onstage for someone with his dangervibe is something I find unprofessiona,l but he is Axl Rose....he is a legend and he does his own thing which you gotta respect. His clothing was fucking ACE too, true rockstar-style. Overall, there is few 50 YO rockers IN HISTORY that matches his performance.

So there you have it, a critical review from a looong time boardmember and corefan ok

Hope the whole show is reuploaded with better sound, for the goozebombs-moments Tongue
