cool
prostitute would be epic

It was really cool to hear it live.

That song is the perfect last song on the album.

I wonder how it would work as a set closer....

I am jealous  Tongue

'Prostitute' is an amazing song. It is my favorite song from CD, but I am not sure that it would work as a closing song live. It is too quiet at the end.

The reason I'm curious is because it would give the show a little different feel.

The intro fades in and then you could basically fade out with Prostitute, instead of going out with a bang. Literally.  hihi

I understand Mysteron and Jarmo. In fact I think it would  be a great choice to close the main set, right before the encores (Paradise still is the best ending).

we are so used to PC, that its hard to imagine other songs to end the show.. I have always thought that Coma would be the best song to end a show EVER... If i should pick a couple from CD i would say Prostitute or Madagascar.

The times Nightrain was used as the last song were funny!

Like you said, people are used to assuming Paradise City is the last song.

But then the band came back out to do more songs!

To say some in the audience were surprised would be an understatement!  hihi

I think Prostitute would work really well, but they would have to use the full synth ending, as apposed to the quick cut off we saw at the asian shows in 09. I can imagine it, just as Ron finishes that crazy guitar outro riff, the synth outro starts to play really loud. And then, the whole band do their bows while the synth outro is still playing.

I think that would be awesome, and then as it starts to fade.......the whole band can walk off together.  drool

I dont know about the final song, but im 100% sure Riad can be the perfect opener. The intro of it is just outstanding. And what a suprise it can be for everybody!

Riad is one of the best GNR songs EVER. Period.

I'll never forget Rolling Stone editor David Fricke's review of a GNR show in 1991 at Madison Square Garden (Axl had a fever and was backstage throwing up between songs) - he loved the show and he loved the UYI albums (RS ran with the double headline of "Chose Your Illusion" and gave them both 4/5 stars) - but he wrote how he'd love for them to open with Don't Damn Me! Some of the (usual) openers from that time was ISE and Nightrain.

Anyway, he was hoping for it and I thought it would be cool too. Fast forward to 2004, and I meet Fricke at the (tiny) SPOT Festival in Aarhus, Denmark, around the time Fricke was "credited" with The Raveonettes "making it". Fricke turned out to be a great, great guy in person; polite, funny and an encyclopedia of rock music (mainstream and indie). Anyway, I told him to catch new Guns and he was itching to do so! We joked about Don't Damn Me as he had forgotten he had written that.. he then looked me dead in the eye and said (paraphrasing); "Man, I love that song. They really shoudl do it!" He later did catch new Guns (2006) and he also later reviewed Chinese Democracy (4/5) for RS.

Anyway, DDM would be a fun song with the line-up now! But I'm also hoping for Estranged somewhere in there. Bumble has teased it so many times now.. and he may be wearing positives on Rose in that regard now, ha!

We'll see.

I myself am really hoping that GN'R play a new song for Rio, seeing as it's a really special accassion. And if not, I'd settle for a song that's not new but hasn't been played many times, like Oh My God, Riad N' The Beduins or Silkworms.  Cool

BBF initially did the teasing for Don't Cry and wadda know, it became a regular...

it would be a crap idea to end with prostitute , only us hardcore fans know and love the tune most of the audience would be quiet and there is no obvious chorus to sing and shout to, i think youve got to finish the show with pc or one of guns most iconic songs not a rare one that half the crowd wont know

setlist talking?  Cheesy

i'm up for ANY changes, no song should be known when being played in the set. switch the setlist for some songs each show, different openers, different closers, surprises and there you have an unpredictable rock show!!

Maybe that would be the point.... You introduce the song to more people and you have a slow end of the show...

Maybe it wouldn't work at a festival with more casual fans.

But in a headlining show, it might be cool. Who knows.
